Using the giant leg press machine in the gym tonight. This is a great bit of kit. The plate can be used as two seperate plates or joined together. Biggest leg press I have ever seen

Also used the Kabuki Swiss bar today which felt really good.

I love the back attack/good morning machine at ESP.
Used to live on that thing.
Brutal if you add a Westside purple/green band to it.

Monday 4th Sept - week 2

SSB squat

Smooth reps, lungs having to work tonight. Good leg pump.

Leg ext
60 x 15 x 4 sets
Machine have really smooth action. Great pump.

DB Inc bench press
30 x 10 x 4 sets
Pec pump city.

Cable row
120 x 12 x 4 sets -
Love these.

Good session. I wasn’t feeling it going into the gym and not wanting to squat at all. But by the end of the warm ups I was ready to go.

Trip to burpee town tonight. 100 burpees.
Split them up and did 30, 20 and then 10’s to finish.

Training Update:

A couple of you asked what was next for me following on from my recent strongman comp. Seems like you all know me pretty well by now and knowing I need some sort of goal to train for, were waiting to hear what my next challenge was.

I have signed up for a power lifting meet on the 10th December. It is with the APL (Australian Powerlifting League). I will be competing in the 90kg class which means I need to lose a couple of kilo’s. I will be competing as a master in M2 (45-49) and in the Raw division. So knee sleeves only, squats walked out.

Been working with @wiseman83 on what the training plan looks like for the next 13 weeks and getting the first block laid out. There will be 3 blocks, starting with volume, then into a strength block and finally a peak block into the comp. Pretty excited to be focusing back on the big three and to finally get back on the platform after a long time between drinks. (last comp was pre covid lockdowns)

Wednesday 6th Sept

SSB good morning

Damn good pump.

Machine shoulder press - hammer strength
60 x 12 x 4 sets (plate loaded 30 per side)
Short rests these were good.

Machine row - hammer strength
80 x 10 x 4 sets (plate loaded 2 x 20kg plates on each side)
Pump city

Overhead Dumbell tricep ext
30 x 12 x 3 sets
Wrist didn’t love these but tricep pump was solid.

Only had a short time to train tonight as had to go pick my daughter up. Got this done 35 mins. Was sweaty and pumped by the end.

Thursday 7th Sept

Sled walks, flat bottom slead with a towing sling attached. Sling across the body over one shoulder and walk.
60kg added to the sled for a whole bunch and laps abs then down to 40 for a few more

Reverse hyper
No weight on these just the weight of the Westside machine arm
15, 15, 15

Concept 2 rower
5 mins - 1100m

Echo bike
4 min warn up
4 min tabata- 20 sec on 1 sec off x 8 rounds.
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate this machine. I get off this after the intervals and I just struggle to breath. My whole body shakes for a minute as I try to breath in.

Those sled drags really hit the calves. @SvenG you would love them. Could easily use a tyre and make a version so pull around at home.
