Not really. Hand placement can play a part. Having the underhand and inch further out than the overhand can help. Mostly it’s lats though. If you aren’t squeezing them, the bar is going to want to drift. When it drifts, it’s much more likely to windmill.
Fair enough, the first rep was locked in ok. Maybe the bar rolled forward a little after the first or second rep. I’m not too worried. Will just make sure I squeeze those oranges harder next time ![]()

Woke at 87.7kg (193) - feeling a little beat up from yesterday’s deadlifts. Got to work today and then home for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Probably not going to make midnight as I’ve been tired for a few weeks now and really need to sleep.

Been mostly away the last three days, so haven’t had time to catch up.
That was a hard triple man, awesome. As Mark said try a little wider grip underhand.
We didn’t reach the 200 lbs mark BW this year.
Btw Great pictures… Not “Fat dad” there.
No my friend we did not quite hit the 200 but it was fun. Now to try and strip some fat away and then try again next year.!
I’m on, I’ll only shed off about 5 - 7 kg, and see how that looks.
Woke at 87.7kg first day of the new year. Actually managed to stay up and see in the new year last night. Relaxing day planned with the family today. I’m guessing the wife will have a bird in the head.

Dangerous Dad V2.0
When I started this log back in April 2017. My goal was to not be a ‘fat dad’. That meant being a good example to my kids and being a dad the CAN. A dad that can run with his kids, play with them, jump, climb, throw things, carry things, build things. It’s was about setting a healthy example for my children and always striving to be better. I have definitely achieved that and am very happy with how things are right now.
Over the past 20 months however my training focus changed to mostly strength and as a result I let some of the other elements slip a little. So it’s time for a reset and its also time to challenge myself again and push to be better.
The goal for this year is to be a dangerous dad. I will keep the strength focus in my training but will supplement it with other things so help me be faster, more explosive and better conditioned. It’s time to get this old body moving again and build a better version of myself. Version 2.0
This week is the last week of my current training block which will basically be a test week. Then I have a holiday planned with the wife and kids for a week.
