100 horrible burpees tonight. And yes they were horrible.
Ok so I got myself a little present today. I have been thinking about getting a log to have some fun with on Saturdays and this showed up on gumtree with the seller less than 1 mile from my house. Turns out we both know each other in passing. He used to go to the same gym as me and his kid and mine go to the same school and same year. The guys garage was fully kitted out with all sorts of toys. Reminded me of @T3hPwnisher gym. Bars, axles, farmers, slam balls up to 85kg, dumbells up to 55KG, rack, cable machine and all sorts of cool stuff.
It is amazing what you can find literally down the road.
It is a 10 inch log with 2 handle grips that weights 63kg (139 lbs). I am now going to need some help from @T3hPwnisher and @Koestrizer as I have no fkn idea how to lift it. LOL
Oh that’s easy, you just pick it up and put it over your head
I knew someone would be able to help. Appreciate it mate. ![]()
What a score!
Only “concern” with dual handle logs is, if thing go south and you need to bail, you can get caught in the log. But you can’t beat conveinience and a good story like that!
10" logs can be a tricky beast. Not quite the fat diameter of a 12" log, which can make the clean a little tricky just because it doesn’t roll quite as far as a 12". For pressing, some folks find it easier, because it’s closer to your center of gravity, other folks find it harder, because it’s a longer ROM than a 12" log.
Big thing is: deadlift the log and lap it: don’t row it into your lap.
It really was a good score. $150 AUD or $95 USD which is probably like £1.84 LOL.
The guy had basically never used it. He was selling some other cool stuff too but I just don’t have room in my shed, unless I take a car out.
Thanks for the tip about deadlifting it and lapping it. I started watching a Brian Alsruhe vid last night and he said something similar.
I just need to score myself a couple of old tyres now so I don’t have to drop it on the floor.
So stoked for you Simo!
That’s so cool! I love the barbarian equipment

SS
Hammer curl
22.5 x 8 x 3 sets
Left forearm / elbow still a little sore.
BNP moved really well tonight, wasn’t easy but just felt good. Happy with how my pressing is going right now.
Good Wednesday night session. Body is holding together even if it is with gaffer tape and cable ties !!
Bench from tonight
Nice work! And congrats on the rep PR—your bench is looking good, mate!
Thanks Sven, pressing in genera is good right now but not sure how long my forearm / elbow is going to last before it explodes !! ![]()
Great work, man! A PR of any type means we’re improving!
Yes sir. For bench even half a rep is a win. ![]()
Burpees tonight.
Only 50 reps but each rep consisted of
Down 1 pump, in out, 2 pump, in out, 3 pump and up
So 50 reps but 300 push ups. Chest pump was wicked
Those were the good old days… You’d need £85 to make $95 now. I used to order computer parts and find places that for some reason had PAL videogames for sale in America. It was a hell of a lot cheaper.
So where is the first video of your log pressing mate?
Will have a go at it on Saturday. It seems Fkn heavy just to move around so I am not that confident !! I still need to find a couple of tyres to put it on.
A PR at your advanced age is awesome
