I got my weeks cardio just from watching this
Mate this doesn’t include the 10 sandbag carries I did before this. This was the finisher !!
Well gosh, you guys sure do make it look and sound fun.
Damn dude. You sound so Australian.
Great work, I really like the idea of using the Sandbag for this.
Just watched your deadlift video from a few days ago. I need to learn from that. Watching it I can almost feel the air compression in your abdomen as you bend down; also your knees and forearms appear to stay out of each other’s way, which I haven’t figured out yet.
Lol people here still think I sound like a Londoner and people back home say I sound Aussie. It depends on who I speak to and how long since my last chat will th my dad. ![]()

Mate you should deff use the sand bag for Tower of Babel and tell us how bad it was ![]()
Go onto YouTube and look for Brian Alsruhe he used to be Alpha on here. You may have to search way back in his videos but he has some very good vids on deadlift and also on breathing and bracing. A good brace will have a big impact on your squat confidence as well as deadlift.
I pulled up in my car planning to do the Tower today, checked my phone for messages and saw you’d just done it with a Sandbag. I was tempted to join you, but I didn’t have the time to repack my Sandbag.
There is always tomorrow
There’s a very real possibility I won’t be able to walk tomorrow. I just had to take a second try at getting off the floor in the kids room.
We had the kids end of year karate celebration today. Held at a local park to keep it out doors. Lots of games for the kids and then an awards presentation and finally a giant water pistol fight. Kids had a ball getting all the sensei wet.
They had a giant tug of war with the sensei agains the kids. As they were setting up I hear one of the sensei shouting where is Holly’s dad we need hollys dad. My daughter runs up and says dad sensei wants you. I walk over and the sensei are like we need your muscle. Did about 10 rounds of tug of war against all the different age groups of kids. It was great fun and a good little work out. Kept letting go of the rope against the little kids and letting them pull the adults, very funny.
Felt good to be asked as this is part of why I started the ‘Don’t be a fat dad training log’ more than 4 years ago. Being strong enough to do this stuff and have fun with all the kids is so good.
So after the morning celebration at the park. This afternoon was my eldest daughters 12 yr old birthday party. Wife and I took a whole bunch of kids (9 in total including our three kids) to paintball. Then all back to our house for dinner. Daughter had the best time with her friends which was so good to see. The last two years of lockdown have really sucked for the kids so it was great to see them having fun together. I ate way too much food and am going to miss doing any conditioning today. I will try and make up for it later in the week or not. It has been a good day so I dont really care.
Awesome to hear the “life stuff” in this log.
Also, good not to see any more awful workouts I have to try and replicate.
Thanks mate, there wasn’t much life stuff for the last 2 years because our lives have been on hold. Great to be doing things again.
I just saw that horrible session you posted. I am sure I can find something else just as nasty for next week.
Don’t feel like you have to.

Rediscovered cut up fresh tomatoes with salt and olive oil for dinner tonight. Well as a side dish anyway. Actual dinner was a roast chicken and half an avocado😂
Burpees tonight. 100 x 2 pumps. These were a lot harder than I expected. Good chest pump and lungs were hurting.
