Some solid training. It’s always fun as you learn more about your body. I find more weight vs more reps not as stiff but more mentally drained and vice versa.
Squats are looking good, you may call it slow but it looked pretty damn clean to me. Nice work
I think sometimes how a lift feels vs how it looks can be very different. That’s why I video a lot of lifts so I can see them after and it helps the coach too.

As I get closer to the end of this training block and the comp. I find I am thinking more and more about what is next. I really want to just focus on the next 2 weeks but its hard to not also want to plan ahead.
Part of me is just saying, don’t change anything. What you have been doing is still working and whilst its slow progress, it is working. Part of me wants to change it up and do something different, still strength focused but different. The odd part is that I have no idea what sort f different I want to do. What I know for sure right now is that I will get the next 2 weeks done, do the comp and then have a week of recovery. During that time I will think a little more about where I am going or where I want to be and start to lay out the plan. I will no doubt share a lot more thoughts on this after the 14th. 10 Days to go.

187.5 x 2 x 2 sets (413 lbs) - first set was good, second set was all over the place got 1 really slow rep and then couldn’t get the second. Reset and did the set again, still slow but got 2 reps this time.

27.5 x 8 x 3 sets
Bit pissed about deadlift tonight but it’s done now so no point crying over it. On to the next session.

Yeah, that’s the problem with those big ass bumper plates. You can just squeeze 200-210 on the bar if you leave the collars off.

So we have gone into another lockdown here in Victoria for 7 days. Everything closed until 8pm on Thursday 12th Aug. Comp is supposed to be Sat 14th !! I haven’t see official notice from GPC yet but I am guessing the comp with get cancelled or moved back again. I am going to finish this week as per the plan and will hopefully find out what is going on in the next day or two so I can change the taper week if I have to. This is the 3rd time now a comp I have entered has been moved or cancelled because of covid restrictions, seems I am destined to not compete!!

I just got back into the office, first time since mid July.
Fingers crossed it’s a short lockdown and they push the event date out by a week or so.

Thanks guys. I haven’t heard officially that it will be moved yet but it is likely given the dates. If they move it 4-5 weeks then its probably OK, I can just do another block. If they move it 1-2 weeks then its going to be hard. Never mind, them is the breaks.
