Good today, sun was out and it was a nice winter day (18c - 64f). Did a little yard work cutting back some trees and then went to the park with the family and the dog.

Another nice sunny winters day, got to wash the cars and catch some vitamin D. Took the kids and dog to the park again, great to be out in the fresh air. Body is all aches and pains, definitely feeling the training now.

Had a good chat (online message chat) with my mate who does all my programming yesterday. Setting up the last heavy week this week and the taper for next week. Still assuming the comp is going ahead with no lockdowns to come. Talked a bit about openers and strategy for the day and it was good to see we were both in a similar ball park in terms of numbers. Will try and get lots of videos of lifts this week and will finalize the plan at the end of this week based on how the lifts move this week.
Over the weekend @Koestrizer asked me whether I was getting excited about the comp. I dont think excited is the way I would describe it. Probably more nervous than excited, I really just want to get it done now.

167.5 x 1 (369 lbs) a little slow and just in depth. Ok
157.5 x 2 x 3 sets RPE 9, 9.5, 9.5 (probably had one more on the last 2 sets but it would be uuuugly),
Moved ok tonight but would have like them to be a little more solid.

All reps paused, moved ok but shoulder was angry !! Last set was the best

Good session overall. Squats moved a little slow but I didn’t have to grind them up. Bench moved really nice. Happy with it overall.
Last heavy squat session, next week it a taper and then it’s the comp. Already looking forward to a deload, LOL!

I’m genuinely impressed that your top end sets look essentially the same (except sometimes bar speed), as your lower weight sets. This is the skill I need to learn.

Feeling surprisingly good today, a little lower back and leg soreness and some tightness in the shoulder but otherwise moving very nicely. It always amazes me how much a slight drop in volume has a big effect on how I feel after training. The session last night was heavier in terms of the weights moved than last week but the lower reps result in me feeling way better after. The more I run through these training blocks and make small changes the more I am starting to understand the relationship between load and volume and how my body reacts.
