Mad props for going for it, you weren’t too far off getting it either!
I knew it would be close. The single at 120 last week was tough and I was more fatigued this week. But you don’t know unless you try.
It feels like you don’t have a particular weak point in the 115 vid lol, you can power through it all! And it looks like you don’t lock out for a couple seconds on each set before actually doing it?
No weak point just weak😉
That extra lock out it just me lifting it high enough to get it on the J hooks.
That was good effort though man.
If I remember rightly, it was about this time last year you failed a few times at 120 in competition?
The 120‘s in Comp both went up but I got read lighted for technical things. I did 125 in my mock meet in May so the weight is ok for me just not when I am fatigued !!
So the last few days have been crap. Was about to leave work at 4pm Friday and I get a call from the government about tracing for a positive COVID case. The Person had been to site earlier in the week in their infectious period, which meant a whole lot of work for me. Closing off areas, getting a deep clean done, talking to senior managers, customers, unions, safety people, all of the 150 staff onsite. Didn’t get home till about 10pm.
Then needed to get back to work at 5am to brief the morning shift onsite (another 150 staff).
Finish briefing the staff and after doing a few emails I am ready to go home and have a weekend. I get a other call from government and they tell me they are coming to site to do an assessment of our COVID plan. Didn’t get home till 5pm, so that was Saturday down the toilet.
At least Sunday was good, went to the park with the kids and met up with friends and their kids for a picnic. It was great to be able to be out again and catch up with mates.
I missed training Friday so will do that session on Monday. Next week was supposed to be a deload anyway so will just do the 2 sessions at the end of the week as deload.
Monday 2 November - volume week 3
Deadlift
Bar x 10
70 x 5
110 x 3
140 x 1
160 x 1
175 x 3 (385 lbs) OK RPE 8
150 x 5 x 5 sets (330 lbs) RPE 5, 6, 6, 6, 6 (but slow)
The extra rest by moving these from Friday to Monday helped a little. The 175 moved pretty good. It was hot in the gym tonight and got these reps with no chalk so happy. Grip was getting a little slippery but that just made me grip harder !!
Bench 420 (4 count down, 2 count pause)
Bar x 10
70 x 5
92.5 x 4 x 4 (204 lbs) RPE 8, 9, 9, 9
These were not too bad today. Good stuff.
Cable row
45 x 11 x 5 sets
SS
Leg curls
5 sets
Good session tonight. Was still pretty tired after some very long work days but felt good to be pushing the iron.
Tonight’s deadlift and bench, not too bad.

Not exactly @kleinhound but I think I see a muscle!!
Nice to see a picture of you not in your under crackers.
Looking quad-tastic dude.
Hows the bench feeling?
It was better tonight but then the weights were lower as it was tempo work. Coach and I are going to drop the weight a little for the next block and build back up again. I think it is just a little fatigue, it has been many blocks of strength work this year and I am not 21!!
Nice deadlifts!
I still feel like they are a little slow and I could be more explosive. No idea how to do that though !! ![]()
They look on point. Speed is gonna be what it’s gonna be on the day.
Thanks man. I think deadlift Is a lift that tends to feel slower than the look in the videos. They did move on.
glad you didn’t hurt. that could have been really bad
i think some of thise were bots
Solid trunks mate
I read this quickly at first (and didn’t see the tempo explanation). Thought, " bench is coming along well then!"
Don’t you listen to him Simo, keep up the undies photos!
