I mean I do have enough in my bank account to afford half a deadlift suit. Conceptually I can’t quit workout how they work though. Does the straps like pull u upright?

@Cyrrex my best is probably mid-60s so it’s a monster ask. I’m very much expecting this to go on for a while.

The top half I guess if it’s the straps that make it work?

You should just do half a side instead of doing the top half. Buy the right side, and get monster good at doing those single leg romanians or whatever. On only the right side. Left side of the body is overrated anyway.

I really think it is the toughest of the major compound lifts to progress, especially as you get towards your 1RM. Adding 5 kilo, or even 2.5, can be a huge challenge.

Agreed. I just need a big goal to get excited about, I don’t thrive when my goal is “to not get much worse”. What’s the worst that can happen? I come out of this only having improved my press by 5kg? That’s still better than nothing.

Don’t get me wrong, I fully support your goal of surpassing Simo’s PR, just so long as you still stay a smidge under mine. I’ll even loan you my Power Pants.

I’m under no illusions that if I get 80kg, I’ll be stronger than @simo74 on the lift he doesn’t even train. I just like to grab hold of goals that excite me. What is your PR, just for funsies?

Well if he doesn’t train it…you would technically be stronger than him at it. I don’t think he’ll mind. My best is 87.5, about a half year ago or something.

Partly, but you pull sumo. In that case, the stretch in the crotch gives significant pop off the floor. Even briefs do that. The straps just help more.

I suspect with a pair of snug single ply briefs and a few weeks to learn their groove you would be getting 20 kg.

A couple of months more practice, maybe another 20 kg.

Nah, I am just better than average at overhead stuff for whatever reason. An undiscovered neurotype, obviously. And now kleinhound has entered the thread, and he probably presses like 400.
