Simo - The Red Shoe Diaries (Part 1)

I knew what you meant, but thought it was fun to twist it. And now Rob is huddled in the corner sobbing or something.

Lol @Cyrrex and @Koestrizer
I got the joke the first time and both comments made me laugh. Let’s face it we all like sports that include men with big muscles either posing, lifting in a skin tight signet or just being massive unworldly giants. It’s all a bit homo really.
Oh and thanks for the compliments on the squat. It does feel good to know that I am actually starting to look like I can lift. It’s only taken me 30 years. :joy::joy:

LOL, speak for yourself mate =) I prefer being around regularly-clothed dudes who completely fucking suck in all ways, making me stand out more by comparison.

Yeah sometimes I am too stupid to get sarcasm, especially in English for some reason

There’s something about time and consistency that seems to get lost on all of us. I’ve made it no secret that I’d love to look like The Rock. I’ve admired him for years. Well, this weekend an old Saturday Night Live came on from 2009 and it was hosted by The Rock. He has continued to grow for the past 10 years. He is noticeably smaller in 2009 and that was after he left the WWE. I’ve always thought he was huge and yet I just saw evidence that he used to be smaller. I guess my problem is that I’m chasing an ever growing goal. If I make any progress then he does, too. I know I won’t ever catch up due to some genetic and pharmaceutical factors, but the point remains. He’s putting in work and growing a little bit each year. I can do the same thing but I’ll never “catch up”.

Back to my original point, we don’t notice tiny bits of growth year to year but it’s obvious when you look back 5-10 years. I need to start using photos that are years apart for my before and after pics.

That makes it hard to evaluate what led to the progress though, unless you use the same program for years at a time. I would suggest focussing on compliance to a process rather than results would probably be a best of both worlds deal here.

I think you can do this and also focus on the results. For me though I have found where I stick to a process and focus on strength across multiple rep ranges then the body changes come along for the ride.
I don’t see the same results the other way a round. By this I mean when I used to train to fatigue the muscle and try to make it grow, strength didn’t always come along for the ride.

Had another appointment with the physio tonight to work on my bicep tendon. He has basically given me the all clear. I have booked an appointment for 4 weeks from now which will be after the next few weeks of heavier work. That way if there are any issues or tightness in the pec he can work on it a few weeks before the comp. Happy days.

So I have to change my training schedule this week due to family stuff. Its not a big deal it just means I have to bench and squat on Wednesday and deadlift on Thursday. So both sessions will be one day early. I have some good leg DOMS today after the heavy squats on Monday so the squats tonight are going to be a whole load of fun !!!

Lots of nice work. No idea what the following means, but I think it is a good thing.

Ask @MarkKO and he will explain it to you. :joy:

Kangaroo-land, kangaroo-people, kangaroo-money etc… That’s all I call your kind, haha. It started with my buddy Wayne and I am going to keep at it :facepunch:

It seemed obvious it was some kind of Aussie thing. I imagine they have to have wildlife spotters making sure there are no deadly animals within range while they do squats.

“More speed on those last reps, mate, that wallaby looks PISSED.”

“Can I get a spot? You know, make sure I am not about to get murdered by a spider?”

Lol it is true that a lot of stuff out here will kill you !!

The actual saying is something along the lines of “I’m not here to fk spiders” which translated to “I’m not here to fk around” or “I’m not here to muck around”.
