I did one squat session in wraps and then had to take 3 weeks off of squatting it mucked up my right knee so bad! Hope you have a slightly quicker turnaround, I still do plan on trying them again.
@MarkKO @simo74 Damn those numbers would be massive! Eat your beans and oatmeal so you’ll be ready Simo haha
You’re not going to get any extra lbs on your lifts from knee sleeves, despite what some people claim. If you do, it’s from the confidence they provide, not any actual physical properties that would allegedly give you ‘bounce’ out of the hole.
Because of this, I wouldn’t want to get crazy tight sleeves. There’s no real added value there, just a pain in the ass. Neoprene sleeves like SBD’s provide warmth and help with stability in the knee joint. That’s their value, and it’s important. They matter much more for training than actual competition, which is why I’d choose a comfortable size. I put mine on at the beginning of every training session and wear them the entire time. Huge for my joint health, for sure.
So yea, if you can, I’d go SBD or Eleiko. Both are high quality, tend to fit really well. Plenty durable. Neoprene. All the things you want.
Legs feel really good today. Left is pretty close to 100% and right is just a little tender.
Had physio for my shoulder (bicep tendon) last night. He was very happy with how it is. Pec was still a little tight but to be expected after getting back to benching last week. I made him laugh by saying the pain had gone, but had moved to my knee!! Told him about straps and he was really interested. He works with a lot of athletes but mostly runners, and swimmers. He doesn’t treat many crazy old blokes who think they are a power lifter !!
Thanks for popping in and taking the time to respond. Some really good information in that response.
Hopefully @Cyrrex finds this useful and finds some good sleeves.
No oatmeal round here mate, just good old weetbix and vegemite!!!
Flying intestate for work today. This will involve lots of time sitting in cars and planes. Guessing back and hips will not be happy tonight. Luckily today isn’t a training day so I can rest tonight. Looks like I’ll be on the roller watching TV tonight.
Not together I hope, that sounds awful.
Even as a lover of marmite, I can’t get my head around vegemite. When we were doing a tour round Aus, the coach driver would use it as a punishment for the last back to the coach.
What the shit is weetbix.
I assume it’s the Aus version of Weetabix. Do you not have that in Denmark?
With a name like that, I hope not. I assume it is one of those strange Aussie or Brit things, like a tub of pure koala fat or something.
That’s exactly the kind of talk I’d expect from the EUSSR.
It’s pretty much just wheat. It tastes surprisingly fine considering.
Yeah, wheat is considered a luxury here in socialist Denmark. We have to line up for it.
But really, you can’t just say It’s Pretty Much Wheat. That doesn’t really mean anything. Like a stalk of wheat you just plug from the ground?
Well, air travel is generally safe enough that you don’t need to make a will before flying.
Excuse me, but we don’t eat koala fat. That’s disgusting.
Koala milk cheese is nice though, especially on a fresh damper.
Nah we have that in Germany as well. So probably not impossible to find in Denmark.
Funny you say this. My wife will not eat it and only eats Marmite. I eat both and don’t find them that different (my wife does say I have no taste buds). All our kids eat both but mostly eat vegemite.
Marmite is bit sweeter, I think.
I always think if as a little more beefy!! But sweeter and less salty is probably accurate.
