It is very odd how we get used to training on specific days. Having the 2 day break from Monday to Thursday seems to work really well for me. I get the extra day to recover from heavy squats and even though it means I train back to back Thursday and Friday. The heavy bench and light squat day on Thursday doesn’t seem to effect my deadlift day on Friday.
Split squats is the culprit

They are deceptively heavy loading I think:
Torso + Weight + 1 Leg - Support From Rear Leg = Thru one leg
40kg + 60kg - a bit of support = lot of loading.
Like smashing out sets of 3 plates on squats at least for the lower body not so taxing on torso
Y’all just reminding me why I keep planning to incorporate split squats into my program, and then failing to actually do so.
Start lifting 3 days per week and you can probably accelerate this to only 10-12months to get out of the “shit” category! ![]()
3 full days a week will probably be when both the sprogs are at school. Which is in roughly 1.5 years.

Pretty good session, bench wasn’t as fast as I would have liked but think I rushed the rests. The rest was good. One more session tomorrow and then I can deload .

Yeah, this is all looking pretty solid.
Why is it that the kg guys must convert to lbs while the very few lbs dudes never does it.
Because the lbs dudes are Yanks and they forget there’s a world outside of the US.
