Simo - The Red Shoe Diaries (Part 1)

little one keeping you up ??

He sure is! Midnight until 4am is our quiet time.

Sucks mate but it is only temporary I promise. Having kids made me really good at sleeping anywhere at anytime of the day. I often have to fly interstate for work and as soon as I get on that plane and sit down, I close my eyes and boom i’m alseep until it lands.

Fingers crossed it is temporary, I keep hearing horror stories from other parents that it lasted 18 months - 2 years for them…boy I hope not! I don’t function well off of this lack of sleep. :grumpycat:
Lucky he is cute!

In the same breath, I can’t imagine loving anything more than that little bugger. I would trade sleep for him any day of the week.

Well done on the PR mate, now a push to 4 plates :+1:

That’s the plan mate, one step at a time. I only dreamt of getting back to 4 plates a couple of years ago but now I know I can get there.

Has the cold disappeared completely?

Thanks mate. Yer probably at 95% now. Still a bit of a cough but that’s it. Getting ready for another bench pr tomorrow night.

What’s the bench target?

My daughter was easy but my son was over a year old before he slept through the night. I finally figured out that he was waking up because he was hungry. We started feeding him more in the evening and decreased the amount of formula he had when he woke up. He would chug 8 oz if we let him.

I started with 6 oz, then 4 oz, then 2 oz decreasing it each night. It worked. I was upset with myself for waiting so long to find that information.

My little man was a bit of a special case, but taught us that routine was everything with sleeping babies.

Little lady slept through the night (6 hours at least) from a month old, pretty reliably.

Haha, that’s why when people say they slept like a baby, I always reply with, “So you woke every 2 hours screaming and wouldn’t go back to sleep?”
My son was (is) hard work. He didn’t sleep much in the day, then would wake at night too.

Cold seems to be coming back a bit today. Nose is blocked, cough still there and head hurts. Luckily I have a day off work today. It’s warm here so going to take the kids to the beach. Hopefully the fresh air will help clear my head a bit.

I don’t really have a target. Last week I hit 112.5 so this week I will hit 115. Long term I would love to get 3 plates up (140kg) but for now I’ll just keep focusing on the next 2.5.
In the comp next week I would be very happy with 120.
