Honestly, who really cares? Unless you’re on some assistance, muscle builds VERY slowly over time. In my own experience, I tend to stay at the same weight for months on end, sometimes up to 9 or ten months. Then I’ll unexpectedly jump up a few pounds and have a new baseline. Rinse/repeat. As long as you’re getting stringer over time does it really matter?
Just my $0.02.
Thanks it really sums it up for me. Strength is my top priority and i’m sure muscle gains will come as my strength gains are made. I mean after all how many 150lbs 6ft kids do you know who can squat 400 bench 250 and deadlift 420+
Does that quote apply to you? You squat 225lbs for 8 reps. You are nowhere near the level he is describing.
Wait what? I know for a fact i’ll be hitting those numbers by the end of the calendar year.
I just have to ask… How do you know this?
Because I have a plan a reasonable plan. Also these aren’t crazy numbers i’m already at 325lbs max squat 350 Max deadlift and 200 max bench
Plans don’t really mean anything. You can plan out a years worth of slow and steady increases and deloads but sometimes you just hit a wall. Everyone will hit it sooner or later and you really don’t know where it is. Then you have to change your plan and do something different till that programming wont get you through. And this all becomes more and more difficult to get right as the weight gets heavier because you are getting closer to your genetic potential.
You haven’t ever really trained seriously before have you?

For fucks sakes bro have you even read anything i’ve said? Don’t you think I know that which is why i’m doing the least I can to make the most gains. I know I can add much more weight quicker but i’ll hit a plateau quicker and be stuck for a while. That’s why i’m averaging an increase about 2.5 lbs a week. Of course there will come a time where I won’t get an increase of 2.5lbs in one week but there will also come a time when I increase it by 5 lbs etc.
I did read what you said. And what you said includes a lot of things you seem very sure about that might not come to fruition ever, although they very well could. But you absolutely cannot count on growing at a certain rate as a 15 year old, and also to say that you know for a fact where your strength will be at in a year is complete bullshit and pretty much the mark of someone who is just beginning and doesn’t fully understand how things really progress yet.

Wait when did I say I was 15 lol. I’m in college I began lifting when I was 15 though and I know what body i capable of. I get what you’re saying though.
Sorry I thought that was stated earlier in the thread. Must have gotten my details mixed up.
Everything I was going to say next was stated by Chris so yeah, just read that.
I mentioned that his age was 15, because I went to his profile and that’s what his age was listed as. It looks like it doesn’t say that anymore. Or maybe I misread it in the first place. No way to know now.

Got it. At least I am not totally crazy ha.
