Is it possible for a Dip belt to cause the SI joint to become inflammed or misalligned?
I have inflammation now, I have been using a Dip belt for DIPs and Pull ups for about a month or two. Is it just a coincidence or is the belt to blame?

You wouldn’t think so unless you were hanging massive amounts of weight and or getting into some really funky position while dipping. If your dip belt is digging into your lower back maybe. You should notice that though.
I am actually using an old nylon strap with a hook and chain. The belt does not seem to dig in but seems the SI problem started after the beginnig use. I am looking into a real dip belt.

It’s tough to be specific without seeing you use it, but it does seem reasonable that if the trouble started at the same time as began using the belt then it is somehow the cause. If the strap is thin I could see it stressing a small enough area to be a problem.
