Does having a lean and muscular physique 100% correlate with mental illness?
I’m curious why you’re fixated on my profile picture. ![]()

Flys are an accessory movement, and not really a great one at that. I’d say use them for pre-exhaust if you want to put emphasis on your pects, but be very careful to avoid pronation of the humerus and impingement of the delt.
. But thats just me. Others may or may not agree.
I think that the big disconnect here is that you come off as having something to prove, but nobody cares.
So just lift and be happy. Cuz even if you did manage to prove something like “the jefferson lift is superior to the deadlift” , you’d still be left with the fact that nobody cares.
I mean, sure- the proof is in the pudding. But for every guy saying “look at my pudding! Its awesome” there are a dozen other people saying “Fuck your pudding. If its so good, shut upand eat it yourself!” And they’re all correct.
I think it was Craig Wolfley that was famous for this.
The Bugez has brainwashed me too lol
This is kind of my point. It is a lifting site - the abs are pretty relevant when he’s giving us advice on how to get lean.
This was all so well-put!
Thank you my good man! ![]()
Do the mentally ill know they’re mentally ill?
I can’t do them regardless. Either my balls are too big or my arms are too short.
@TrainForPain i see how it is.
It’s ok for them to say I’m retarded, post MEMEs and laugh or say I’m a narcissist but when I counter it, I’m questioned.
This is classic “boys club” behavior.
Much like those institutions called “screwls”.
What question did @TrainforPain ask you?
And really one of the lifters I got 1-rep ideas about was Mark Chaillet, he’s the king of 1-rep.
He’s also lifted lots more than RT.
Does not mean it’s THE way to go for all, but it does mean something.
I mean your countering is like “no you”, “i know I am but what are you”, or “nuh uh”. Then followed by a monologue. It’s a great read because it’s entertaining
I haven’t done any of this. I think I’ve been very deliberate to say I’m not questioning anything about you outside of your specific advice in this specific hobby.
I’m simply talking about the credibility of an authority, much like you wouldn’t attend a physics lecture from someone who hasn’t demonstrated any basic mathematical skills.
Einstein failed math.
You tell RT this because his pudding is much better.
Let’s go back to 2-sets of 10 now……
Why use the same weight on set 2 as set 1? Are you not always better on set 2?
If you aren’t better on set 2, that means you only get 9reps with that same weight.
Think about it…………….(army surplus character quote in Mike Douglas movie).
I’m under the impression that’s not true. When Einstein saw the 1935 newspaper article, he retorted “by 15, I’d mastered integral and differential equations.” (Or something like that).
Fake news, says I!
I have more than basic creds in lifting things.
I post videos and I have a back ground in Strongman.
There is no dispute that 1-rep maxing a conventional deadlift is risky and might be a bad idea. RT seems to agree with this.
However people are taking that wrong because the deadlift is a beat your chest lift.
What’s the argument here??? I said I’m NOT doing max effort 1-rep on the conventional dead lift, instead I’m doing them on other movements less stressful on the disk, eg Jefferson Lift and other type lifts.
So WTF is the argument about? I’ve already said conventional deads with medium weights are great.
Its about if Chewbacca lives on Endor
Never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn!
I had very tender patella tendons. I had over stressed them when I was about 29. The guy that introduced me to powerlifting had severed his patella tendon doing a squat in a meet.
I did 9 warmup sets (of 5 to 2 reps) before I did the first set of 10 with 495lbs. I felt no difference in the difficulty of the two sets.
I self-restricted my maximum squat weight at less than 500lbs.
Feel free to criticize my methods. I am just sharing my experiences. You should use them as you see fit.
