The dogs next door came out to play & visit during our sled riding/campfire extravaganza.
Awwwww😍
So yesterday, while snowshoeing, Buttons made an incredible jump across a raging river. So impressive was it, we decided to repeat the feat so others could marvel along with us. Below you’ll see the entire thing, from the initial releasing of the beast, who’d been held back while the camera was readied, to her flight across the water.
Love it! Buttons FTW!
Majestic creature! ![]()
I like that she took the hill like a champion too!
Haha, boom chicka boom, buddy! Lookin’ good! ![]()
Mans companion, hunter, gaurdian- for millenium.
Until bagged snacks came along.
I had a pit that was an absolutely fierce protector of my wife & son.
Until she met mylar balloons. She charged after someone that had come into our house through the basement, ran him down and last I heard he was screaming as he went over the fence.
But a shiny happy birthday
baloon?
Too much.
Got the family a first dog today. F1 mini golden doodle who doesn’t walk on a leash and made me carry him in PetSmart today.
Went to the dog park to meet up with my friend/neighbor who moved across town. Batdog got to see one of her friends
PRECIOUS!!! such a smart kitty!
Fly, Buttons, fly!
Youse guys were almost as funny as Buttons.
That’s pretty damn impressive!
my tabby wabby. When she wants to play she goes and finds the little piece of boot lace, brings it to me and gives me a little meeeow.
She has that kitty dragging a kill strut too. ![]()
She’s the greatest kitty ever!
Yes! Fetch!!
What’s really funny is that we’d just crossed the same spot and come back over it because we wanted the vid. Going the other direction, she took a drink, then continued on, simply stepping up onto the bank. And then this agony of indecision. Again, two times each direction in a space of about 5 minutes.
So when I talk about the blazing 50-minute miles we walk, this is why. Plus we like to take breaks and have treats. And we do a lot of stand-arounding, which is when we stop to talk about something and all three stand in a cluster, looking at one another and in Buttons’ case, wagging our tails.
A big, big deal happened yesterday - we went to a birthday party at my stepdaughter’s house, where there were adults Buttons has been around before, but also strangers, and she totally did stand-arounding with other people. At one point she and I were in a circle with three others, and she WAGGED. She also left our sides to hang out in the kitchen with other hang-outers. Huge milestones.
We’ll celebrate her three year anniversary next weekend, which will be her 13th-15th birthday (we’ll call it 13). ![]()
I remember the feeling when my puppy-wuppy let my brother in the house. Previously, he tried the stern “look them straight in the eyes” thing, and her response was explosive anger toward him, so we would have to put her away when he came over.
Then one day he brought his peek-a-poo, because she did like small dogs. They got along great and she completely ignored him.
Then the next time he came over was without Cookie. But she was still happy to see him, and they got along great from then on.
So it was relief, happiness, and a bit of accomplishment that she had come a good way from where she started.
