I’ve previously posted in the tricep/elbow pain thread and learnt some things from you guys to help my tricep/elbow (obviously) pain but now I have another issue I’m hoping you guys might be able to help with.
I’ve started getting pain in my left shoulder that sometimes radiates down my tricep when training. I’m not great at pin pointing the location of pain but I’d say possibly long head of tricep.
Exercises that bring on the pain are BB bench, DB bench to a lesser extent, military press, seated DB press. I’ve not really noticed it on close grip bench or lying deadstop extensions. Had a ‘take it easy’ session the other day to see if I could find anything that didn’t hurt it; pec deck hurt, DB flyes didn’t, and incline DB bench didn’t seem to either. Pulling exercises cause me no pain.
Anyone got any clues as to what it may be? Tendonitis possibly? If so what can I do about it. I’ve used the tendon cross friction technique on my bicep tendon with good results and was wondering if there was something similar I could do here, or if it’s even appropriate in this instance.
I’m guessing I need to do some better warming up/mobility before doing the exercises mentioned above.
Thanks
