Shoulder Injury and Squats

I recently hurt my shoulder. My doctor thinks it might be a torn labrum, part of the rotator cuff, but we are waiting for an MRI. My question is, have any of you guys had a similar injury? what exercises can you do with a torn rotator cuff? are squats okay? Thank you all so much for your help!

Not being sarcastic, but do anything that doesn’t hurt or feel uncomfortable.

this happened to me last year and I find it very difficult to do back squats without a good amount of pain so switched to front squats and they don’t hurt at all, they also added some size to my quads.

As far as exercises for the shoulder do internal and external rotation exercises, I T Ys,and rows to name a few.

I tore my labrum in 2005 and couldn’t squat with a straight bar for months. And even when I did go back to the straight bar it was very uncomfortable. Easiest way to work the squat during your recovery would be to do belt squats, if you have access to a safety squat bar that will help too, and of course you can rely more on machines like the leg press etc. until you heal up. my tear also had a huge impact on my ability to deadlift. Whether you do the surgery or not, take some time off, heal up, do the rehab and then ease back into things slowly
