Shoulder impingement pain FIX?

Hi, I’ll get right to the point. I have been dealing with some pain especially in my left shoulder when it comes to some particular activities like chest fly (when my arms are most separated), and other daily activities that aren’t gym related. I’ve tried a bunch of mobility routines for shoulder impingement and nothing seems to work for me. The pain is in the front of my shoulder. Any tips?

Best advice is to find a good Physical Therapist who can identify exactly what the issue is & where for targeted rehab!

Otherwise:

  • Shoulder external rotation work
  • Scapula control (making sure you have full control over the basic movements: elevation, depression, protraction, retraction, winging & “setting” the shoulder blade)
  • Lateral raises
  • Hanging work (literally hanging from a bar, passive ideally but make active by depressing shoulder blades if passive gives you pain) & shoulder extension stretching
  • Complex shoulder movements (ie teacup exercise)
  • Soft tissue work on the whole area - chest, lats, shoulders, rotator cuff, traps, neck, bi/tri
  • Neck mobility/stretching/strengthening

No specific answer there but as long as you’ve not done any structural damage the above pretty much covers the rehab for most shoulder pain. Unless a Dr tells you it’s because of your kidney, then this will be of no help

Is the issue diagnosed or are you assuming because of symptoms?
You need to know the cause or your never gonna fix it.
Fluid? Tight pec? Inflammation? structural?
