Injured my back deadlifting 127KG’s almost a month ago and still get some uncomfortable tingling sensations in my lower back.
to help recovery i’ve been doing stretching which seems to help instantly, but still get these strange pains.
In light of this i went to my doctor and they told me that i havent got any herniated disks and appears to be no damage to my spine, but did recommend me going to see physio for some further help.
Would it be worthwhile??? - Or should i just do a bunch of stretches/ mobility work?
Probably a pinched nerve. If it was a herniated disc, you’d know, trust me. Even a bulging disc would feel fucking horrible. See a chiropractor or do some form of physical therapy.

Went to doctor recently - they told me they’re certain that its not anything like that as well as saying posture was fine.
Save your money. I just spent $90 to see a physio about my torn pec. They ARE helpful if your a regular joe who has no idea about rehabbing soft tissue injury but it seems everytime i go its always the same prescription. Stretching, massage, heat & an exercise program targeting the injured muscle. All these start at a super low intensity and gradually build from day to day, week to week.
After years of training and educating myself this now seems common knowledge to me, but i thought i would go and actually use the ridiculously expensive health cover i have.
I would be more inclined to pay for a good masseuse & maybe an exercise physiologist to critique/assist with your lifting form.

Does a herniated/buldging disc feel actually painful, or merely just a little tight?

I’m finding that the stretching has really helped relieve the pain immediately.
I guess it doesn’t help that im sittin on my ass half of the time though

Holy shit man. I had a bulging disc which wasn’t “herniated” but the x-rays they took were “close to herniation.” I.e., I fucked up squatting and my disc popped out of alignment. If I was squatting with 25lbs more weight, I would have probably herniated my disc. But that bulging disc was terrible. I couldn’t do anything besides lay on the couch, feeling pain if I walked too fast. After 2 weeks of that I could move without pain, but not round my back. Now I’m at 90%, 95% once I’m warmed up and that took me about 4 months.
So yeah a herniated disc I imagine feels worse than a bulging disc, and the bulging disc I had wouldn’t let me do ANY spinal flexion without feeling like I got the wind kicked out of me and my spine was popping.
Bulging disc stops you from training, definitely, until it’s healed or mostly quelled, like mine is right now (after seeing a chiropractor for awhile). I’ve also heard that an actual herniated disc stops people from moving, let along standing and walking. Sounds terrible!
i would see a pt personally, tweaked the low back about a month ago, after 2/3 weeks of rolling streaching ect went to pt and he didmore in 30mins found a little tear, strain on the tendon near the pelvis. ; ) helped allot

Really? That sounds nasty.
I’m suspecting I’ve got a bulging disc, but I got it from doing bodyweight pistol squats five months ago. However, it doesn’t really hurt, it just feels tight. I can also do all spinal movement including spinal flexion fine and painlessly, and spinal flexion actually relieves the tightness.
