Ok, here’s my story::
I’m 35 years old and I’ve been lifting for 15 years. I’ve done pretty much every training program under the sun - old school high volume stuff, HIT, Westside, EDT, GVT, GBC, various programs by Waterbury, etc etc. I’m 6’1 and weigh about 210 lbs at ~14% bf, and I’m reasonably strong although not exceptionally so for my size. I’m pretty sure what my genetic limits are by now as far as muscle mass is concerned, and that I’m very close them. Progress has been pretty much stagnant for a long time (gain some, lose some) and I’ve accepted that, thinking of training more in terms of maintenance than progression.
Maybe I’m having a 35-years-crisis or something (haha) but I have a desire to add about 10-15 pounds of muscle. Not more than this, since I can’t afford to replace my entire wardrobe. If I could be 215-220 lbs with about 10% bf that would be excellent. The problem is that I’m fairly certain I could not do this without “gear”. 220 lbs is reachable of course, but not with acceptable bf, and 10% bf is not hard to reach, but not at 220 lbs. I would probably have to get below 185 to reach 10%. Note that I’m not obsessed with numbers, these are just ballpark figures to give you an idea of what I have in mind - 10-15 lbs nicely distributed and a reduction in bf.
So I have an urge to try, and it would obviously not take a huge stack of Anadrol, Sustanon and Deca for a steroid-newbie like me to add 10-15 (I hope!). I’ve been thinking more in terms of a mild cycle of a single compound, preferably an oral for the sake of convencience. OT maybe. At the same time it would feel kind of like a defeat to have to do this now, at 35, when I’ve been “clean” for 15 years and have a pretty decent physique for a guy my age, compared to the general public that is.
Complicating the issue is the fact that I have a genetic predisposition for hair loss, i.e. male-pattern baldness. It’s not bad, but I’m sure a steroid cycle or two would not exactly improve things.
Any feedback would be much appreciated!
