Also, your chest development looks great, way to go. Your back is comin along nicely too. You look much more “complete” than many guys of your same relative size, looks like you’ve done your homework and are balanced. Good job.
Good luck man[/quote]
Thanks for the complement NewDamage! Not many of my friends notice things like that. All they say is “you are big” or “you should stop because you will get too big” and the thing is they said the same thing when I was 135lbs. But the good thing was that I had set my goal and I didn’t listen to them and kept on going. And I am hopeing to get up to 180 - 185 lbs with the same BF%.
I don’t see any point in starting this thread, other than getting compliments for what progress you have made. Should I cut? How can you ask that question to a bunch of strangers? It is up to you. The only person whose going to care about you adding more fat is YOU. Gaining weight won’t always be pretty, but in order to get bigger and stronger, sometimes you have to be secure enough to get a little chubby. It is entirely up to you.
Another thing, what BF% you are doesn’t matter at all. It’s just a number. If someone tells you you’re 10% or 15%, how is that going to make a difference? What do you think about your screen name? So right now you’re 165lbs. and not in contest shape, so you wouldn’t exactly be considered “big” yet. It sounds like you’ve made some good progress, and I congratulate you on your accomplishments so far, but don’t lose sight of the overall picture. I assume for you that includes “getting big”, so I suggest you not worry about adding fat, so you can start adding more muscle.
Well, I wasn’t looking for compliments when I started this thread. As you can see, I didn’t attach any pics until jsbrook said I would get better advices with some pics. Also, I don’t know if you notice, but I posted this thread in “Building a Better Body” forums. If I wanted compliments, I would of post this under “Physique and Performance Photos.”
And why can’t I ask people for opinions??? Yes, I had never met any one here face to face, but ‘stranger’ is too strong of a word to say here. I know the people here have the same goal as me and I know they can/have help me to reach my goal. It’s way enough for me to ask a question like “Should I Cut?.” And they know a lot more than me, that’s why I am here…for help. Also, I know it’s up to me to cut or not, but I have low self-esteem, so I ask EXPERIENCED people for advice. I asked for help when I wanted help. That’s all. We are all looking for/providing help or a pat on the back here right. No need to be bitter.
Thanks for you comment though! It is entirely up to me.
Why not? I doesn’t have the gear to find out myself and I want to know. Again, I know people here have experience, so approx. of BF% is what I was looking for. And who are to tell me it doesn’t matter to me? Like you said in the last response. It’s up to ME to take the suggestions/advices. And thanks for the advice about BF% doesn’t matter.
My screen name is ‘Getbig,’ so I want to get big. I didn’t say I am big.
Thank you! My goal is 180 with <10% BF … right now.
Yes, “Getbig” includes “getting big,” but I look at “Getbig” as a guideline and how I enforce it is a different story. And yes, I am going to keep doing what I am doing but add a day of cardio and adjust my calories intake, so I can reduce the fat gain rates.
Thanks for your response!

PS-Do you swim? I want to know if it’s a good idea for cardio and how long. That would be a big help for me to decide if I am going to swim or not.

Sound simple but tough to remember when you stand/walk a certain way all your life.
I shall dust off the bible and keep it on my head at all times to ensure proper posture.
I don’t think swimming for cardio is a good idea. I’ve tried it long ago, it’s just too intense (even at a slow pace) and is too much for my upper body as far as recovery wise. I think brisk walking on an incline is hands down the best cardio for me, and the stepmill at a reasonalbe pace is great too, though harder and not as well suited to when you’re bulking.
Think about it though, lifting is all geared at making your body fast twitch, explosive and strong. Swimming is just the opposite. I’ll make the sacrifice in strength with lower body cardio, but I don’t wanna do any cardio that really engages my upper body. Most lifters don’t and for good reason I think.
Also I’d add 2-3 days a week of cardio in briefer sessions, maybe 15-20 minutes, vs one longer day. Then bump up the time 5 minutes here and there if it’s not enough.
