Should Gays Have their Own Locker-Room?

Stop worrying about the gumps and just lift. If you find someon checking you out, just go on about your business. If you worry and give attention to this, they might wonder if you too are gay. Nip it in the bud quick.

Nah, you’d get over it. I’ve been to several swinging nudist resorts and you get used to it after a bit. Like Renton said, it just isn’t that big of deal (no pun intended) after awhile.

Yeah, the chicks are still attractive, they turn you on and all that but your mind-to-phallus alert system figures it out and settles down…in the normal, non-sexual social interactions, that is.

Besides, there’s always some fatties around that cause shrinkage and swing the pendulum back the other way (pun intended).
They should rate nudist resorts. A “10” should be filled with cover models and people near contest shape. A “1” would be filled with those people who get news crews to film them trapped in bed before they cut out a wall to get them to the hospital.

to the people that say no, do you think men & women should have separate locker rooms?

Hot (even average) naked girl = automatic erection!
That’s actually a very interesting point. Normally, I’m like that too. But in the situation I was in things were just different. I guess you’d have to go and experience it to know what I mean.

The interesting bit though is… If a gay guy is in the locker room, lets assume he thinks like your average horny Nate Dog does about naked girls, then why is he not walking around sporting a flag pole?

Do gay guys simply fancy far less other men than we would at first assume? Well no, not according to a few gay mates of mine. They look at other guys in probably about the same ratio as us hetro guys look at girls. Why then the lack of boners in the locker room?

I’ve never asked any of my gay mates this question but having read this thread I most certainly will.

There should be a “gay” squat rack too, Mak’s legs are lagging.

Im still surprised you didnt have a woody the whole time.

In the changerooms, wouldnt it be obvious if a gay dude is looking at you? I think that if he has a woody and hes looking at you while licking his lips, then you should be uncomfortable, but if you dont notice it why do u care?

Also, wouldnt the gays be getting it on in the gay changerooms?

LOOOOOL WDF

AQ, it looks like you have these options:

Change gyms.

Shower at home.

Stop looking at guys, looking at you.

Or, whip it out and shake it, while singing “I Want To Break Free”, by Queen.

I don’t care what the gay guys say or do. I want to travel to Europe more often and find myself in situations like you experienced!

I guess after being in the situation over the course of several hours, my weiner would finally relax and chill. But it would probably just as quickly salute at attention once someone moved in a different spot or the scenary changed!

I’ve been in mixed locker rooms in Sweden

I’ve never hear of these, though I’m not suprised. Do people ever hook up in those situations? If anything, I’d think there would be a lot of creepers hanging around.

As far as creepers go, surprisingly there are not many at all.

Sure, people hook up, but not really any more than in the gym or the pool or in a club or anywhere else for that matter.

I must admit to finding it a little strange at first. Alright, a lot strange. I was just going to swim and grab a sauna etc.

I walked into the changing rooms and it took a few seconds to realise I wasn’t in the wrong place. I thought I’d walked into the female changing area - then I saw guys in there too.

There were some amazingly hot Swedish girls, completely naked, and not phased by it at all. There were also some decidedly ugly Swedish girls in the same state. But then there were guys - some with great bodies, some looking like shit.

Then it starts to sink in. It’s a changing room. People are in there to get showered and changed. That’s it. I grabbed a locker (well a cupboard - no lock on it, no need), stripped and put my gear in there, and went through to the sauna.

Now I’m really not bothered about getting my kit off anywhere (ask some of the local bars round here), but the thing that struck me was that it very quickly started to feel far more natural than it would if I did the same thing in the UK.

Sure, people checked other people out, but it wasn’t in a 'Phwoarrr! Look at THAT!" sort of way. Just an admiring glance here and there then carry on to wherever you were going.

I spent about 40 minutes in the Sauna chatting to naked guys & girls and guess what? We talked about anything and everything. Just day to day bullshit like you would anywhere else.

Towards the end of my sauna I was talking to the most beautiful Swedish girl you could imagine. I mean, close your eyes and think Swedish Goddess. Got it? That was her. Naked. We talked about our different countries, where we’d visited, foods we liked, anything really.

We’d both had our fill of the sauna and she asked me, in the most awesome accent, if I wanted to go take a shower then get a coffee. Now if that had happened here in the UK I’d have been plotting my moves and 90 seconds later she’d have been pressed against the shower wall with me firmly implanted inside her.

Over there though, because maybe of the whole relaxed attitude to nudity, I just accepted and we went and showered together. No big deal. I mean yeah I enjoyed the view but that was it.

We went and got changed then went for a coffee.

Now the strangest thing (alright, strange when you’ve never experienced Sweden) - We chatted for a while longer and as we were really enjoying each others company she actually invited me to her house for a meal that night. She made a call (in Swedish) and a little later her husband arrived and off we went.

They cooked an amazing traditional Swedish meal, we drank, talked, drank some more, then the hot tub was mentioned so we had half an hour in that - again, all naked.

At no point was sex implied in any way. I was asked to stay over and as I was enjoying myself so much I accepted. Their guest bedroom was made ready and after more drinks and laughs and talks we all turned in.

That was it. Just a great, friendly night.

The reason I went on so much above was to highlight a point. In many countries we see nudity (especially of the opposite sex) as a sexual thing.

When you are in a country where the general population thinks somewhat differently it becomes easy to fall into their way of thinking and in Sweden I found it an extremely refreshing and nice thing to do.

Her husband told me that his wife actually found me extremely attractive, but I was invited back to theirs because I was friendly and interesting - nothing to do with sex. She was his wife and would never have cheated - but she was open enough with him to tell him how much she liked me.

Even better in some ways, he was man enough to accept it and even tell me with no feeling of threat.

Sort of a hijack from the original topic but may be interesting to some.

There is just no way I could be in any of those situations and not pop wood the whole time.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH

The same thought occured to me a few years ago, not that I care but if you think about it gay guys in the change rooms is like me changing in a girls locker room. You get to see what turns you on, I mean not all of it is gonna be eye candy but some will. But if they have a change room for both gays & dykes together???
But this is something that doesn’t bother me anyway, its just a curious discussion.

But then, what about the bi-curious?

Transvestites?

Hermaphrodites?

Now since you read that you might want to start seeing a therapist about your own repressed homosexuality.

Anyway you shake it discrimination is wrong.

The guy doesn’t want to be leered at and he’s got a problem, requiring therapy yet? Tell that one to women who don’t appreciate you looking down their shirt.

Why should he give a fuck in the first place if a gay guy is looking? We are all visual creatures and he is doing whats in his nature. Big deal. Does looking hurt you? You inside yourself might think so but that is on you. Not the person looking.

And what I am talking about is why are you so uncomfortable or insecure it with it to begin with? Something inside you is triggering an emotion that makes you uncomfortable. That is why therapy might be needed if you feel that discrimination is necessary to solve those uncomfortable feelings.

Anyway you shake it discrimination is wrong based on any reason. Case in point gyms that actively discourage heavy lifting. Just cause I am trying to gain most muscle I want, I can’t work out at that gym. Just cause some scrawny health enthusiast get intimidated. Stupid right? So why make gay guys change in an other room cause something makes you feel not right about it?

He paid his gym dues just like the woman who reports someone leering at her, to the gym manager. If she’s got a legitimate complaint, then so does he.

You’re turning his dislike into being leered at into some sort of witch hunt for discrimination.

If it was a casual glance, then he should ignore it. It concerned him enough to post it here, which leads me to suspect that he was made uncomfortable with his surroundings. Since he paid his dues, was he paying to be uncomfortable? And now you’re trying to lay a guilt trip on him and label him.

Why do many (like Prof X and you) feel it their job to turn everything into a witch hunt or some scene out of an Orwellian novel? Lighten up.

I’ll agree to disagree with you on this but its not a witch hunt. My point is making people use another room cause of discrimination of sexual orientation is wrong.

But your right if the guy is making google eyes at him and being suggestive then he should complain. Inappropriate behavior should not be tolerated by anyone. But not make “gays” change in a different room that is discrimination.

The reason people like prof-x and myself are strong on points like this might be cause we face discriminatory attitudes and we were told to lighten up and its not that bad. Until you can say you faced the same thing you can’t make that kind of statement. When we see this kind of thing as discriminatory we know it when we see it. I for one will speak up about it cause its the right thing to do.
I respect what you’re saying. My argument is that the victims of such things are shamed down into not complaining, for fear of being labelled. A woman who complains becomes a ‘bitch’ and the guy becomes a ‘homophobe’. Is that really the case?

Thank you for mentioning the shower issue. I still don’t get why so many people act like they simply MUST shower at the gym. Unless you are going straight to work or going out right afterwards, showering at the gym to DRIVE HOME makes little sense…especially if you are so worried about other people looking at you.

Well, uh for example I have to catch the bus whenever I go to the gym. You know eh, smelling like shit isn’t exactly nice when being around people in a closed environment.

But to be honest I prefer training at home alone. Much cheaper, more peaceful and no random gays to worry about. And I haven’t to worry about the smell of sweat and rusty cast iron plates and groans I make while lifting. Also haven’t to worry about finding someone using the friggin squat rack. God bless home gyms.
Yup. The day I bought my Oly set and power cage were days of liberation! :>

I think we can all agree we would prefer a naked woman(or guy for the ladies) instead of that inevitable scaring site of some old guy soaping his ass in the open showers when there is a fuckin curtain for a fuckin reason
