Should Dwight Howard Train His Legs?

This thread is dumb. It would take someone that tall over a decade to actually fill out with enough muscle to look like he is even a serious weight lifter.

Bodybuilders who are 6’2" are showing that it often takes until their 40’s before they fill out…AND THAT IS ALL THEY FOCUS ON.

Dwight Howard will be fine, it’s the smooth looking players like Durant that I worry about (see Livingston, Shaun).
Ugh…thanks for putting that image back in my head.

Dwight Howard lol, love to see him with some 36" quads lol… Basketball players have strong legs relative to what they do and they don’t want to overdo that because of their need for agility, speed, jumping, etc. He works out his legs plenty, just not wiht squats and leg extensions.

I’m sure he does do squats(at least in the smith machine). He benches around 400 pounds and spends a lot of time in the weight room. People here seem to be forgetting that he is 280 pounds and under 10% body fat. Which is significantly larger than he was in High School.

well, in the end many say he is inconsistent. Hence the game against new orleans? how do you go about fixing that?
I don’t know much about the New Orleans game, but it sure doesn’t seem too bad to me. He scored 12 points and had 8 rebounds in just 29 minutes. That is almost a double double in a little over half the game and you’re using that as a bad game? Last year he had 69 double doubles in 82 games. It must be awesome to be Dwight Howard.

As for an injury, what are you talking about? This is his 5th year in the NBA and I don’t think he has missed a single game. It is somewhat amazing that he has started all 82 games in a season 3 times already. The one time he didn’t, he started 81 games. That would be silly to change the way you train him because of injuries.

He easily dunked on a 12 foot goal in middle of the season. That is ridiculous. His legs are doing just fine for him.
