Shin Scrapes From Deadlifting

Thats a trap bar deadlift.
Suitcase deads are a single handed deadlift, with the bar perpendicular to you, usually one side at a time “semi-unilateral.”

Embrace your scabs, scars, and hairless shins.

OK, I may have gone a bit overboard with that statement. I’m not a big fan of barbell deadlifts, and the bloody shins issue is just one of my reasons.

I suspect that some people are biomechanically well suited to barbell deadlifts, and I’m just not one of them.

Thats a better statement.

I think all blanket statements saying certain exercises suck or will injure you, etc. are for the most part bullshit and generally the person saying it usually says it because they haven’t had success with it. But that doesn’t necessarily mean nobody will have succes with it.

At one point in time, people on this site have said in so many words the deadlift sucks and will injure you, the bench sucks and it will injure you, and the backsquat sucks and will injure you.

These are also some of the most effective exercises, and when the weights get heavy some of the hardest.

chicks dig scars. suck it up sunshine!

I wear mine with pride. >:)
