Shin Hardening Techniques

Beating the shins with sticks or bottles is not a good idea, IMO. You’ll deaden the nerve for sure, but the bones won’t strengthen, so you won’t feel it when you kick your own leg in half on someone else’s leg. You need the bone density AND the pain tolerance, which is obtained from kicking the pads and bag.
I don’t think what is and isn’t a good idea applies to this thread. If you want to be rational about it probably the only person in this thread who needs to go super hard core with conditioning shins is Johnnytmt. That’s because Thai fighters take a lot of shin clashing. Otherwise all you really need is bag work and bone rolling.

Another Idea that is not rational is throwing a thousand round houses a day. I don’t know any good conditioning coaches who say legs should be worked every day with a thousand reps of one excercise. Do any of you guys actually do a thousand round houses a day into a heavy bag? Seven days a week? If you do how do you still have any knees or hips left? How do you practice any other kicks?

I can spend a couple of hours practicing kicking and I know I throw at least hundreds of kicks. But to churn out a thousand of just one kick and keep them all sharp and focused with good technique? I don’t see how you can do that day after day and have great technique.

Finished and mounted my bag. I actually like this thing just as much as my heavy bag.
They are fun to have. There are a lot of things you can do with it. You can duck your head around it and practice really close in punching. If you fill them with cement mix they are real good for bone conditioning.

So what do people with lives do instead of kicking a bag 1000x a day?

Again with this trolling bullshit. Go the fuck away dickless.

Shut up, it was a serious question. I don’t want to train all the time but I want hard shins. Go box.
Blow me jerkoff.

You don’t want to train all the time but you want hard shins?

Like the guy who doesn’t want to lift all the time but wants to be big?

Or the guy that who wants to lose fat but not eat clean?

OH MY GOD! I don’t want to train all the time but i want hard shins?? you mean like how i gained 20 lbs of muscle from working out 3-4 days a week, not every day and all the time?

or how i lost body fat from eating clean in most meals, but still cheating several times a week??

i guess it’s blasphemy to think you can make significant improvements without devoting your whole life to something!

you don’t know my type, you don’t know shit.

Out of curiosity, do the boxers out here think that there are times when you should NOT wrap your wrist in order for your wrists to condition themselves to take force?

I think of the research, for instance, that has been done regarding belts and how they are detrimental in the long run in regards to squatting injuries.

Bas Rutten talks about this…he’s from a kyokushin background also. Fairly sure he doesn’t wear wraps 90% of the time.

Doesn’t he use a bitch slap more than a clenched fist?
blasphemy…tell that to warpath’s chin shudders

I remember that fight. Color me unimpressed by Warpath’s stand up skills. I didn’t think Bas looked particularly sharp either (I don’t understand the power of the bitch slap) but he did kick his ass.
