i was wondering what i should do during the season to keep my strength up while doing intense cardio. i have been doing research on a lot of forums and came down to either doing sheiko or west side for skinny bastards but my question is will this really help me through the season? i also will be doing a lot of stretching to maintain flexibility for wrestling. thanks for any help…
There is not a hope of you doing sheiko and intense cardio as well as wrestling.
if you’re doing sheiko you really don’t even need to do cardio. i don’t know about hanley but at the end of my sheiko workouts im sweating like a pig.

True story.
I used the shieko workouts for about a year and if you do them exact and your going to wrestling pratice you will definatly be over training. I also wrestled into college. my recomendations for maintaining or even building strength that a wrestler needs is do a ton of pull ups, squats, crunches, push ups, and grip work. and trust me you may find your self wrestling at a D-1 school doing just that.
