20x10
40x10
60x10
70x10

Crunches:
70 straight, back fatigued at that point.

Did not do pull downs with bands, forgot.

Good amount of volume. Ran through this workout quickly. Accomplished what I needed to hopefully. I finally got 100s x20 each. Moving on to 110s or 115s, not sure which yet. I’ll work up to 20 on these until I get to sometimes crazy, then probably drop the weight and work up to 30-40 reps with a lighter weight.

Extra Work:

Cardio:
Bike ride for 45 minutes

Core Work:
Crunches: 20x2
Horizontal leg lifts: 10x2
Core statics: purple band x10 sec x2 (each side, thanks deisel crew!)

Cardio is simply getting easier, which is great. Slowly increasing core strength.

what is a core static?

I found that exercise on a diesel crew torso training video.

Basically, get a band and secure it to something at shoulder height. Pull the band and hold it onfront of you with your arms extended. This puts tremendous strain on your core.

Week 1: Day 2

Weight: forgot to weigh before eating… oh well

Deads:
75x5 (165 lbs) add briefs
105x5 (231 lbs)
140x3 (308 lbs)
160x3 (352 lbs)
180x3 (396 lbs) add belt

Seated Military Press:
20x15 (44 lbs)
45x5 (99 lbs)
80x2x5 (176 lbs)

Farmers Walks:
130’s x 5 trips

Face Pulls:
Purple bands x10x5

DB Curls:
10’s x10
20’s x10x3

Not much to report. Tired from not eating as much as I should have today. 180x3 should have been super easy, but I’ll just chalk it up to being tired. Farmers were not hard. Everything was just a usual day in the gym.

Week 2: Day 3

Bench:
20x20 (44 lbs)
50x10 (110 lbs)
75x5 (165 lbs) pauses start here
90x4 (198 lbs)
105x3x2 (231 lbs)
127.5x2x5 (281 lbs)

Stopped here. Just didn’t eat properly and felt aweful, plus the arching made my back feel not so good. I think cambered bar squats wouldn’t have ended well anyways.

Extra Work:

Cardio: bike ride for 80 minutes

WEEK 3: Day 1

Body Weight: 184.7 lbs

Squat:
20x20 (44 lbs) add briefs
85x5 (187 lbs)
130x5 (286 lbs)
155x4 (341 lbs)
180x2 (396 lbs, cut it high)
205x3x2 (451 lbs) add belt and wraps
220x2 (484 lbs)
225x1 (496 lbs)

Quit here.

Back felt awful b/c of the rain here. 180 kg felt super heavy and shouldn’t have. 225 was the most solid lift of the day. I will try to at least get 518+ next week and call it a success for the cycle if I do.

I know now that I can cut well below 181 if I need to. I might cut as much weigh as possible w/o losing strength and just fill out 181 solidly, then after a period of time, move back up to 198 clean and fill out that weight class.

Skipped Day 1 upper body and day 2. Just felt out of it this week.

Decided to do Day 3 of Week 3 tonight, just the bench portion since I’m maxing on Saturday.

WEEK 3: Day 3

Bench:
20x20 (44 lbs)
50x10 (110 lbs)
75x5 (165 lbs) pauses start here
90x4 (198 lbs)
105x2 (231 lbs)
115x1 (253 lbs) PR for no arch bench, had a lot more in me
127.5x3x5 (281 lbs) arched, belt for support

Good session. I honestly didn’t think I’d knock out this sort of weight tonight. I’m hoping 300+ for maxing next week. Nothing else, just burnt out from this week’s weather.

Instead of maxing, I am taking the week off to recover from a 48hr flu I had on Thrusday and Friday. So that means no week 4 this cycle.

I plan on doing the meet Wade Hooper is hosting on April 24th in Marksville, LA.

Is anyone else going?

I have two goals set for the meet, well 3, although only 2 are related to powerlifting.

  1. Make 181
  2. Squat 600lbs
  3. Lean out to a 6 pack again.

I was 180.7 lbs due to eating better, then getting a 48 hour stomach flu. That’s one goal down, at least I know I can cut down quickly if need be. I believe I have 80 lbs or less to get to 600 lbs. I think the 6 pack will follow as long as I keep my diet clean. Bench & Deadlift are still in the air.

Week OFF:

Cardio:
Bike ride for 45 minutes

Eulogy by Tool

I’m fading away bro. At my lightest since 2007… 97.8kg!! Over 12kg of weight loss since April :s

What happened? I’m down to 185 (or up if you can believe it). I’m actually trying to stay 181 for 2009/2010.

Its the new fad…

With meat on a diet too, the hard hitters on this forum are just wasting away, pretty soon dankid and type2b are going to be the biggest and strongest.

Biggest… maybe…

Strongest… pssh… though I won’t be the guy to keep everyone from saying that.

181 will only be fore another 6 months. Then i’ll try to push towards 200. I think if I can manage 600 @ 181, 700 @ 198 would be doable.

Hanely is dwarfing me, even when he’s fasting LOL. Viking, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were bigger than me too.

Yeah, I am 6’2", 255, but to put it in perspective I was fairly thin and had no muscle when I was 195, at this point I am starting to realize 300+ is going to be in my not so distant future.

Week 1: Day 1

Body Weight: 182.5 lbs

Squat:
20x20 (44 lbs) add briefs
85x5 (187 lbs)
130x5 (286 lbs)
160x4 (352 lbs)
185x2 (407 lbs) high, just felt off
210x3x4 (462 lbs) add belt & wraps

Had some depth issues. My head was pounding me from the weather front that moved through and I cut it short. I would much rather have a stronger start to the cycle, but this happens and its not worth fighting it.

I hate cold weather. Its crap, period. Bring back 90F days.
