Shaping Chest

As for the eating, my calory intake is 3200 a day with 180-200 grams of protein. I do eat, I eat my ass off to get that much food in with school and work.

I really have to comment on this. Kael, I’m sorry, but I don’t think 3200 cals will EVER be considered eating one’s ass off. If you have problems with putting on mass, there’s your reason.
I agree, try the Growth-Surge Project, that program rocks. When I did it, at one point I ate 5000 calories a day for two weeks, and I only weighed 165lbs or so at the time just to put things in perspective.

How the hell did this crap get 5 stars?

4.1% was that your math percentile?

The lowest race weight I’ve been was around 6% and even at my size I looked a hell of a lot leaner then you do.

And if you really are 4.1% thats nothing to be proud of if you are trying to bulk.

Listen to what the veterans are saying.
I’d assume it got a high rating because of all the quality advice that was given. I’d be happy as a pig in shit if one of the strength coaches replied to my Physique and Performance pics.

Plus, he did seem to start taking the advice that was given, which is kind of rare.

It seems that if you’re constantly stuffing food down your gullet and only getting 3200 kcal, your diet contains very little fat. The only way you’re gonna get the necessary calories to grow is to increase your fat intake. Maybe you should just start pounding whole milk, almonds, and whole eggs. It’s not very sophisticated, but it worked for iron godfathers like Tony Sansone, and it still works now.

I’m going to go out after work tonight and get a weight gainer to help aid with my cal intake…I really do eat my ass off for what time I have and it mostly consists of oatmeal, eggs, and peanutbutter bananas!

As far as Whole milk goes…HAHAHA O if I could drink milk I would drink gallons at a time…but unfortunately everytime I consume milk my stomach doubles back and gives me the raunchiest farts ever…they singe my nose hairs…seriously…but it might not be such a bad idea to drink a few glasses and head to the gym as a token of my gratitude for all of the quality info i recieved from the bodybuilders in there! :stuck_out_tongue:

Sweet jesus, where’s the meat? I seriously advise you against using a weight gainer to fill in those missing calories, you need to learn how to EAT, and if you take shortcuts now, what are you going to do when you need 6000-7000 cals per day?

Try adding 200 cals every few days until you get to around 4000ish (based on your stats, that’s my guess), try that for a few weeks and look at your progress. If it stalls, add more calories. If you start getting too fat (adding more fat than muscle), cut the calories a bit.

I totally know what you mean about the milk, I discovered I was lactose intolerant after, on the advice of a friend, I drank 10 glasses of milk with my supper. On my way home, I had to shit so bad I actually started looking for a good lawn to take a shit on. This happened a few times before I figured out it was the milk. Those were hard times.

Kael,

There is some good advice on this thread (between the insults). It’s good to see that you are looking to use it.

For the veterans on the whole “Chest Shaping” thing, does the length tension relationship come into it anywhere? By that, I mean could the different lengths of a muscle affect where the stress and growth occur in a muscle? The length of your pec muscles changes depending on whether you use bench or cable flies. Would that effect the growth of different parts of the muscle?

Sorry I didn’t clearly say that the oatmeal/eggs/and peanut butter bananas are what I eat between meals. I make sure I’m still getting plenty of chicken and steak during my main meals like lunch, dinner, and dinner number 2.

And to the other poster, what the fuck is a “bottom-heavy” pec?

this took a while to respond, but this thread got a little too big since i was online last night…anyways, bottom heavy pec is basically a chest that is very muscular, but looks more like a breast…not what most of us are going for…

Your pecs maintain the same range of length (range of motion) in both exercises. The difference between the two is the relationship of your forearm against the force. That is what makes cable flies the lesser of the two exercises in terms of the stress applied to muscle. That is why it isn’t a great “mass builder”…you are forced to use less weight than if you essentially take the forearms and biceps out of the picture (which is the case if your forearm is mostly perpendicular to the ground). Your pecs are attached to your upper arm (humerus), not your forearms.

Range of motion wouldn’t affect half of a muscle fiber. The fibers run horizontally. The same fibers at the outside are the same ones on the inside close to the sternum.

That’s not gyno. That is what very large pecs look like on someone who is genetically shaped like that.

Variety. If you’ve been going hard for low reps, go hard for higher reps. If you’ve been doing high reps, go hard on low reps.

It’s all about variety and giving your muscles novel stimulus to force them to adapt.

I used a TUT of 222 on my chest workout the other day and I’m still sore 2days later. Variety.

I’m 2% body fat. People call me the silky white lowfat milk alternative.

OMG, where do these creatures come from??? No, you’re not 2% bodyfat. If you read this thread, you would understand there is no possible way you are 2% bodyfat. A human being could not survive with less than 2.5% body fat, numb nuts. You have over 2.5% bodyfat around your organs alone. Now go crawl back under the rock from where you came.

I think it was a milk joke randman. Enhance your calm.
