Thanks. After doing it out door I think indoor would be considerably easier. At least a lot easier on your hands and mind. My fingers are still kind of numb today. You can also kind of zone out since balance isn’t an issue.
The wall people hit is once they deplete their glycogen storage. That’s pretty typical around the 90 minute mark, and you want to be replenishing well before that 90 minutes. I start with banana, applesauce pouch and electrolytes at the 45 minute mark and then some kind of refeed again every 45 minutes while drinking electrolytes between. This seemed to work, except the cramping.
Awesome job on those deload sessions! They definitely looked harder than my normal sessions.
Bike Ride: Yeah, I think they only way I would ever consider doing something like that is to be able to ride on a road or path where I didn’t have to worry about traffic. Up in Raleigh they converted an old rail line into a multi-use path. I think it was about 30 miles long. That would have been a good option. The traffic part is honestly why I haven’t bought a road bike yet. Just nowhere to go ride safely (traffic is really bad here and people drive like sh!t). Interesting about the glycogen storage. I’ve never read too much into that stuff. Definitely something to consider before attempting my 5 hour Peloton ride.
Nice last couple of sessions! Solid work on that bike ride and a nice push session this morning. Your CGBP are better than my regular bench press. Yep, you guys won the toilet bowl alright. We went to the beach yesterday afternoon. We set all of our stuff up and right after I sat down in the beach chair this older, “heavier” guy in front of us strips down to his speedo. So for the next two hours I watched this dude prance around, frolic in the water, have a few drinks, rip a cigarette and then pass out on his towel. I thought to myself, “Well, at least I’m not watching the Panthers right now…”
Ha ha. Honestly, I was thinking, this dude is a total boss. I can’t think of a better way to say f#ck it then to be in your 60’s+, be 50 pounds overweight and just rock a speedo in front of everyone. Might have to buy one of those in 20 years.
