Thank you Trent. I think the secret to my hip not hurting has been really warming up my hips and legs prior to even thinking about squatting. Hopefully this continues. I don’t plan on going that heavy but just squatting 225 for reps has started to get boring.
Assuming that was a bike ride. Nice job Shane! Man, a 700 calorie deficit? I would be laying in a ditch somewhere moaning in agony. Good work man. The pounds should be dropping fast the way you’re going.
I’m jealous of the squats – good work in here! I also recall reading somewhere that the calorie burn estimates on the watches can be pretty wildly inaccurate and usually high. As you say, pounds coming off is the right metric.
Yeah, I may have had about 10 days in 2 years where I burned 4,000 calories, according to the Apple Watch. But, then again, little pipsqueaks like me don’t burn that many calories, even when we work our asses off. Life isn’t fair I guess…
Yep, they inaccurate, but they give you a place to start. That is about it. Thanks about the squats. Hopefully I can continue to push the weight up a little.
Solid session Shane. You’re making me want to hop on the HS machines. Like the UH rows too. Sorry you have to work tomorrow. Hopefully that means you’re busy.
Solid work today Shane. I would love to get 10x200 on bench. Just tons of work overall. Great job!
I hear you on Six Flags. I went there one time, about 20 years ago. I met up with some friends from college (a year after we graduated) and we partied like it was 1999. The next morning, we woke up, started drinking before breakfast, then went to the park late morning. It was July and about 100 degrees. That was one of the most miserable days of my life. After only 3-4 hours, we called it quits, went back to the hotel and started drinking again. Moral of the story? We didn’t have to drive all the way to Atlanta to rent a hotel room and drink all weekend.
LOL. That sounds freaking miserable! I didn’t actually drink anything but the rides kicked my ass. Woke up feeling like I had whiplash which left me feeling like I had a hell of a hangover. My wife barely made it home without puking.
It’s funny because we did Disney earlier this year and rode a ton of rides and none of them left us feeling beat up or queasy. I guess Six Flags is definitely a more intense experience. LoL.
Last time I was there was about 20 years ago and I don’t remember it being nearly as rough back then. I guess it comes with getting older. Lucky for us, we got a season pass.
Agreed on Disney. I never felt beatup after going there. Well, my wallet did, but… We used to go to Carrowinds in Charlotte when I was a teenager and I remember feeling beatup then. LOL Maybe the normal amusement parks have different ride comfort standards?
I hear you on the wallet being beat up. They are sneaky with that. Give you a wrist band with your credit card attached and everyone gets one. At the end you try not to drop dead when they pass you your final bill.
New PR. Honestly didn’t think I would ever touch my old PR since it was done prior to knee surgery but I was inspired by someone in the class that hit 863 KJ, doubling my best output. 40 year old from Georgia too. Damn impressive and would put him over 300 watts for 45 minutes straight.
Congrats on the PR! Was that in 45 minutes? Damn! Still impressive to me! Can’t imagine anyone actually doubling your KJ (calorie burn?) output over the same amount of time unless he were a lot bigger and faster than you (not very likely).
