Shane’s Journal

Now that is impressive. But entirely too early to be doing anything besides sleeping!

I slept in a little to late this morning but still got in early.

Solid session this morning Shane. Lot’s of upper body work. I saw a superset in there too so I’m guessing the gym wasn’t that crowded? To get there at 5:00AM I would probably have to wake up at 4:00AM and that is not sustainable for me right now. I may be able to do it once or twice per week. Hoping you are able to keep that up. I would think you are at a more manageable period in parenthood so that has to help. Way to get it done brother. :+1: :+1:

Thank you Trent. That superset is really easy as it uses the same incline bench for both movements. The gym was much less crowded, like 1/3rd of the people. I only saw 2 of the squat racks being used.

The crowd isn’t nearly as bad going early but I must admit it sucked to drive right by my old gym, and 8 minutes the opposite direction of my work work to go to this gym.

The one I drive by is my pre COVID gym, not the most recent Golds I quit to go to my new one. Easily an extra 15 minutes daily in there or over an hour a week I could be saving. The lure of driving by it daily will probably drive me crazy and I will end up going back there if my current contract will not rape me for cancelling it.

Yeah man. That’s tough. I’m not sure what the cancellation policy is for my gym. I remember them saying it was month to month so hopefully it’s easy to get out of. The gym at the front of our neighborhood closed so I’m 15 minutes away from the closest gym now. I would never give up 30 minutes (of drive time) in the morning anyway so that puts me in the garage. They have been upfitting that building for something else though and it has been a gym for the last 20 years so I’m hoping it will be another gym soon. We shall see…

Hope you guys have a great 4’th! :sunglasses:

Thank you Trent. After reading my contract it’s going to be 59 bucks and a 30 day notice.

Now to see if my old gym will get me in with a deal.

4th was good. Ate to much but had a great time.

Happy 4th of July!

We did all our fireworks last night. Had a blast. Wife did the Peachtree road race, virtually, but she got it done. I might try rowing a 10k later today. Knees are kind of sore from running from mortar tubes last night and running after footballs and frisbees. About to head out to the pool.

Nice cardio over the weekend Shane. Glad one of us got something done. :joy: Good call on doing the fireworks early. We were hearing them all weekend but some folks a few blocks down decided to block off the road, get a DJ and do a fireworks show last night. It was a lot of fun but made for a rough morning today.

Nice leg session Shane! Tons of work on that one. Glad you got in the gym brother! :sunglasses:

:joy: I hear you on the tacos and beer. I don’t typically drink a lot of beer but with this heat it really hits the spot after a day at work.

Went and joined my OG pre COVID gym again. Not as many toys but a lot less people, and it’s on the way to work.

They have upgraded it since I was last there. They have a turf floor area with a prowler, kettlebells and a CrossFit type feel. They are also bringing in new power cages and deadlifting platforms on the July 13th along with other new equipment so that’s all just a big bonus.

Nice job on the Peloton ride. Good deal on the OG Gym. There really is something to be said for convenience and less people. I’m searching for the same. The upgrades sound good too. Hope you guys had a good weekend!

Thank you Trent. Yep, you really can’t put a price on convenience and availability. Weekend was good, lots of rain so I ended up doing some projects around the house.

First day back at my old gym. I haven’t been doing standard BP. I spent too much time doing a BBB type of set while I was trying to grease the groove to get a good feel for them. Hence the long session that was missing some key movements. I will make those up on Friday. Elbow was a little sore today. Not sure why.
