Sex, Squats, and Rock 'n Roll

No meat in the house last night.

Made 2 late grilled cheese sammiches + protein shake.

Had weird dreams and a rock in my stomach.

Good times… good times…

How ya doin’, Steely?

Speaking of you… I went back and found some of your posts about triceps. For some reason, I associate you with triceps. LOL!

I’m doin fine. Lots going on with work and kids and gym. I need to start making time to fix things around the house, but hey, my back is getting bigger and my bench is going up, so forget about fixing up the bathroom!

Always keep an emergency can of Spam in the cupboard.

Merry Christmas!!

a 100 lb gain in 2 years. That’s some dedimicated eating. You’ve been the most consistent gainer on the board that I know of.

you’ve demonstrated to all a great dedication to gaining size and strength - me 'ats off to you!

Thanks dog and dca!

Still a long way to go yet-- I feel like I’m just getting started.

The dedication to food isn’t as fun as it would seem. Even tonight I’ve been nursing this 1 lb of steak in front of me for about 30 minutes. Maybe another 10 bites that will take another 20 mins or so…

Santa’s gonna be full tonight…

OMG-- this just in from the kitchen— chocolate pie and cookies for Santa!!!

I’m in the IT biz. I develop software. Complicated software that connects big complicated databases to big complicated maps and graphics and models big electric/gas/water networks.

But I can’t use Facebook or, apparently and Ipod Touch or laptops that have so much software that’s supposed to ‘do stuff’ for you (eg. HP software). – LOL! Kids got hooked up with some serious electronics this year and I finally upgraded a 15 year old TV with a flat screen and a BlueRay/DVD player. The cord that connects them was 50 fucking dollars. The accessories are as expensive as electronics! I’m exhausted hooking them all up to the wall, to each other, to the wi-fi, to the Interwebz… OY VAY!!!

I’m going to go back to looking at dirt for a living…

I develop automation for controlling and gluing disparate software systems together. My kid is kicking my ass navigating through the various screens and capabilities of the new X-Box we have in the house. I feel like an idiot having to quiz him on where the frickin’ game library is in the menus.

Off.

GPP: Lots of shoveling snow today.

Damn Steely, that is some significant progress in a short period of time. Awesome work.

I design voice and data networks, but using my cellphone is overly complicated for me.

End-of-Year Bench:

135x10
225x5
275x1
315x1
365xFail
355x1 - PR+5

CGBP (1/2 Foam on chest)

275x7

DB Flyes/Stretch* + (1 arm DB Rear Delt)
25x12 + (25x12)
35x12 + (35x12)
40x10 + (40x10)
50x10 + (50x10)

  • 30-60 second deep db stretch after set

Well, the goal at the beginning of the year was 405x1, but had a couple set backs, so I’ll take 365x1 and try to get to 405 ASAP. Don’t know why I failed the first attempt, but I suspect I didn’t control the bar down to my chest well enough and flared my elbows to quickly.

The next 3 attempts, I conciously kept as tight as possible, ‘rowed’ the bar down (thx MMeat) very slowly, touched and pressed. Bringning the bar down slow seems to mitigate fighting momentum on the way up (at least I think).

It felt good and my spotter said I didn’t even fight at my normal sticky point so I might have had a few more pounds in me. Test again maybe in 4-6 weeks. Sub-max for now.

Time to eat steak and watch the Eagles game!

very nice set of PRs there - a 50# jump was a bit much at first but you had enough in the tank to do 3-5# PR sucesses in a row finishing with the one you failed at!

Looking L.A.R.G.E. nice bench!

and huge progress

shoulders are indeed looking yoked

I make television for a living - spend all day with
a meter, a vector scope usually a camera and lens that
equals two new SUV and make it look like something
yet cant take a picture of my kid that isnt blurry

Working with any tech seems to backfire at home go figure.

Yeah, weird. I think it had more to do with my setup and poor technique on the first attempt. Was definitely in the tank, though.

Funny, last night was serious low volume for me with the max attempts, but man, I am SORE this morning (and I totally slept in a few hours)!
