Severed Thumb Flexor Tendon - BPC-157?

Yeah, so long story short, I was chopping firewood and in a moment of carelessness managed to cut clean through my thumb flexor tendon. I got it stitched in place the same day and my left wrist and thumb are now in a plaster cast. The surgeon says that I’ll need to have the damn thing immobilized for around 6 weeks to let it heal and reattach properly. And that rehab will likely be excruciatingly slow and painful.

Regarding the above, I’m looking at using BPC 157 to speed up the tendon healing process. My question to this lovely community is: what would you do in my place, would you use the peptide? Where exactly would you inject it? What dose and frequency? Which syringe? For how long?

I know there are other similar threads out there, I’m reading them but I’m a bit paranoid injecting anything near the vicinity of this injury as there isn’t much meat surrounding this particular body part (thumb).

Any and all comments welcome.

Brother than sounds awful. I have no experience with the peptide, but I wish you a speedy recovery. Hopefully you get the answers you’re looking for.

I’ve used BPC numerous times for anything from tennis elbow to small tendon tears. I have found that TB500 used with the BPC add great synergy and effectiveness. I would recommend using both. The TB you can inject in the belly fat but I usually just inject with the BPC.
BPC will need to be injected as close to the injury as possible. In your case it may be difficult.
As far as dosing I typically use 500mcg of each 1 time per day. I use a 31g insulin syringe.
For things like inflammation i would use for 1-2 weeks and typically after a few days i feel much better but keep using to make sure all is good. Last time i had a small tear i went for a month. After a couple weeks all felt good but i continued to make sure. Ultrasound confirmed things were moving along well.
As a side note look in your area for a wellness center or osteopath. You may be able to get peptide injections from them using ozone to spread it out so not as important to get super close.
I actually had a friend sever a tendon in his finger and had PRP shots first and then peptides and he healed up fairly quick. Only issue he really had was finger mobility.
Hope this helped a little and keep us posted on your recovery.

I used the BPC/TB combination for 6 weeks for elbow tendonitis. I had high hopes but in the end, the combo did nothing for me. Doesn’t mean it won’t work for you, for this issue, but I am not a beleiver.

So far this is my biggest concern. I’d go with a 31g insulin in the meaty part of the palm of my hand but I don’t want to knick any vein or nerve. Due to the cast on my thumb, the palm of my hand is the closest available spot.

I’ve also read on several sites that BPC is systemic meaning I can inject Subq anywhere like my belly and would have the same affect. On the other hand, people including yourself claim that it needs to be injected as close to the injury as possible.

The doc i go to for PRP/some peptide treatment told me anytime you are trying to heal a specific site you should get it as close to the site as possible. He was giving me peptides years before i started using them on my own so i continue to take his advice. I’ve never been in a situation where i couldn’t inject close.

This is true but i have never used it this way. Always been close to the injury. They also make a nasal spray for BPC. Maybe that is the ticket for you.

I’m def no expert here. Just sharing my experience with these peptides. The methods i use work for me.
Def look into using TB500 with it.

Out of curiosity where did you inject? Injury site?

Yes. BPC twice per day into elbow. TB twice per week. From top source.

Only thing I noticed was strange “zombie” like feeling the 24 hours following the TB injection along with wild dreams the whole 6 weeks. I wouldn’t use it again but that’s just me.

My provider won’t prescribe BPC-157 anymore. Have you been using pharma grade or lab grade? I’ve been hesitant to use lab grade.

Lab. Umbrella has great products. Been buying their stuff for years.
I think peptide science is good too but never used. They are pretty expensive.

Weird. Never noticed anything like that. What was the tb dose?
I was just doing both at 500mcg once per day. I know tb is recommended to run a little different but this method works for me.

I was thinking injecting it on the marked up “X”, as shallow as possible to avoid the medial nerve.

How shallow can I inject the liquid? Can it be just beneath the skin?
Can I inject shallow intramuscular as well?

Any method works fine. Just go as deep as you feel comfortable.

These needles work great for areas that don’t have a lot of meat to inject into.

as a therapist I don’t think it would make a damn difference. I have tried it and think it’s overblown hyperbole, but I don’t think it would hurt either. Find a good certified and therapist who knows what they’re doing. The hands could be tricky business

Are you talking about BPC-157 in general or are you referring to the place of injection?

Have you taken BPC-157 for an extended period? I’ve read there’s some benefits to overall recovery with running every day for months, but have never actually heard of anyone doing this. I’ve only done it for injuries and short duration.

Same here. I think the longest was maybe three weeks or so.

So I ordered the powder. There’s 5mg per vial. If I dilute that with 5ml of bacteriostatic water, that would give me 1000mcg/ml, correct? Which would mean I’d inject 0.25ml 2x a day for a total of 500mcg/day. Is my math correct?

Another question regarding proper storage: my doctor suggests to keep both the powders and the reconstituted powder in the freezer. I was under the impression that the powder should definitely go into the freezer but the reconstituted material should be kept in the fridge. Otherwise the recurrent thawing and freezing process could compromise the product’s integrity. Which one of us is correct?

You wont get 5ml water in the vial. I use 2ml. See calculator below.

I keep powder and reconstituted in the fridge. I’ve never frozen anything.
