Has anyone every puked from eating too much while bulking, because i definatly just did…
first time in about a year of serious eating.
At least now i know my limits
Maybe i oughta pace myself a little more.
i can almost eat anything and hold it down. last night for dinner i had 18 ounces of 80% lean hamburger steak, 3 servings broccoli, 1-2 servings olive oil, and 1-2 servings flax oil. I can truthfully say I could have eaten a lot more, as while I was full obviously, there was still plenty of room to throw more in before feeling like throwing up. That was just one meal out of 8 in the day, that were all pretty big.
How many meals per day are you eating? Maybe eat more often, a little at each meal.
I’ve only puked after doing squats.

I eat the standard six a day, but since i’m in college i make the most out of the all you can eat cafeteria 3 times daily. Its not really a problem, i just wanted to see how much i really could eat, so i would know if i really had been eating as much as possible, now i know i was pretty close to my limit all along
some of us go a little overboard with the eating thing, I know I did when I first started. Eat enough so you grow, not so much that you puke, that seems a little counter productive. Some people can gain just fine on 4000 calories, others need 6000. find what’s right for you…

amazingly enough…as much as i ate yesterday, when i got on the scale today at the gym i was around 2 lbs less than what it typically reads. i think i am one of those few that is actually going to need 6k a day to grow anymore. 4k got me to 173-175, but now i haven’t gained any weight in a little over a month off 4k, so i can only imagine it’s time to up it.
lol I’m not bulking or anything right now cause my arm’s broken…but I don’t wanna lose any weight…and if anything I don’t mind if I gain some fat so when I come back I’ll taer it up…I gagged in the halls at school while eating a muffin today :(. lol
i had to eat 6k to break 190lbs,but after i broke it and got to 205 i went back down to 5k and still gained.
it sounds like it would benefit a lot of people that have already responded to this thread to go read JB’s massive eating and use the calorie calculator in there. its one thing to enter your height, weight, bf% and then your goal weight, and have a calculator spit a number back at you. using the calculator on a certain website that may or may not sell products with words similar to “nitro,” “cell,” “tech,” etc, my caloric needs come out to more than 1000cal’s/day less than JB’s method. and ill take Berardi any day. JB’s method takes into account daily activity, and does not lump your training into that. training is a separate factor, as is the general level of thermogenesis of your diet, etc., its really much more helpful, as you could be eating what you think is so much, and in reality need 1000+ more per day.
thanks for all the advice, I’m gonna up the size of my between meals meals and down the size of the rest, I really do need to slow down i’ve been gaining about 2lbs a day this last week, its just so easy when your in college, and i used to think i was a “hardgainer”.
EDIT: by the way i realise that is mostly if not all bodyfat.

ahh, at the end of my workout today i tipped the scale at 180! of course, that was with shoes on and after the workout of drinking lots of water and all. but still, it was around 175 2-3 weeks ago, lol.

Well, at least that was my first reaction, but now that I’ve thought about it, I guess if you are in a semi-fasted state and still able to make beginner-type gains, you could do that. So if it is indeed true, then please accept my sincerest apologies. If not, then stop lying on the internet. The internet is not a truck that you dump stuff onto. Its a series of tubes.

I was going to respond earlier but the tubes were clogged. By the way, I’m in the process of writing my senator to push for legislation to legally change the name from internet to intertube. I think you should do the same.
I often stop lunch/dinner just short of puking. If I don’t damn near puke a few meals a week I can be sure the scale hasnt moved
I’m pretty sure most people who have seriously bulked have puked, especially those who chose to ate 100% (or close) clean food. It sucks when I’m right on the verge of puking, but it must be funny for everyone else.
I just sit there, staring into space, breathing heavily, and not saying anything until it tides over. I’m pretty sure if anyone smacked me on the back I’d puke everywhere, lolz.
If you puke all that food is wasted.
You don’t need to completely stuff yourself. Just add another meal or choose more calorie dense foods.

I’m doing the gallon of milk a day thing and eating more (not including the milk) then i ever have before, and i’m still very thin, and i’m sure its mostly fat. I’m not trying to brag, as i realize gaining fat isn’t all that great, i guess i just wanted to know if when people start a real bulking phase for the first time, if this is a common problem. clearly, because i was gaining 2 lbs a day, i was overdoing it.
I just was so excited to see the scale finally go up that it motivated me to eat even more. i was actually up to 2 gallons a day eventually, on top of the regular food. No hard feelings, i don’t blame you for the skeptisism
