Self Injections Are Great!

I’ve been on HRT for a few years now, I always inject in my glutes, but lately have’t felt like it was making a difference. Sometimes my wife gives me the shot.
I thought it (cyp) slowly released into the bloodstream, from the area in which it was “deposited” hence the test depot name? Does anyone know if it’s what happens if it’s injected into fat tissue? Is it still absorbed? I’m not fat, but my thighs are a lot leaner than my glutes.

I took 300mg a few days ago, don’t feel it much. My doc said inject it into the glutes, but maybe I’ll try my thigh next time.
I had my blood work done and my test was really low. Estradiol was normal/low. My gp said get my test dosage adjusted. Does anyone know what 200mgs cyp will produce in plasma? If my plasma test level was 200 at day 14, what the hell was it at day 1 or 2?? The literature says half life is 14 days? Someone here says 8 days? how longis it really?? Either way my level was very low.
thanks!

I don’t see how anybody can inject themselves in the glutes and also properly aspirate. I use a 21 or 22 gauge needle and I alternate quads every week. The 21 is a nice compromise if you have to both draw and inject with the same needle. The new pharmacy gives me both 18 gauge needles to draw with and 22’s to inject with. Adds a step but works fine.

I asked my endo about the hcg, and he said it isn’t indicated in all cases. I forget why, but I think it was if your hypothalmus and pituitary seem fine you don’t need the hcg. Check with your doctor to be sure.

i am getting 300mg every 2 weeks for a month and i dont feel shit my ass is sore as hell 2 days after the shot not much fat on my legs what does it feel like 2 days after getting it the leg?

My injection leg used to feel sore as hell when I was doing one shot every other week. Somebody pointed out that you need to inject slowly, which seems to help tremendously. Also, since I now do weekly injections, I’m getting half as much at one time and don’t notice any soreness at all.

I never had any soreness in my glutes when I was getting a double dose there, but the nurse was doing it for me at the time. If you’re doing your glutes yourself, you might not be getting the needle in straight or something like that.

I have not done this yet, but will get my T level tested when I get back from Iraq, not that I think I’m having problems. I’m gaining mass and strength and losing fat.

As far as dosing interval, from a pharmaceutical standpoint, if the 1/2 life is 8 days, and you are injecting twice a week, after about 5 doses, you should be at or near steady state, which is a relatively constant blood level. That is a standard pharmaceutical rule of thumb and should apply here as well. Twice a week seems right.[/quote]

Patrick,

(1) What you said makes good sense. I’m going order more needles and spread out the dose, going 2/week.

(2) Be safe in Iraq. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Yeah, you have to inject VERY slowly. I take at least 15 or 20 seconds minimum, though I haven’t timed myself. Just do it very slowly.

thanks guys both myself and my left glute thank you.where exactly on quad are you guys injecting?

Upper outer area… I go with a one inch needle and I’m @ 13% BF

this is how i landmark quad shots.

I place my hand palm down on top of my thigh, thumb pointing inward, with the fingertips touching my kneecap. i then place a finger where the wrist and hand join (pinky side), and move 2-2.5 inches farther to the outside of the quad from that point. works for me.

I’d go a little farther from the spine, in the big muscle behind your hip bone, if doing glute. The thigh pic is spot-on (pun intended!

I just used a 25 gauge and it hurt; not the injection itself but the pressure you have to exert to get the oil through a skinnier needle. The needle going in was painless, but you’ve got to exert real pressure to force the oil through. I think I’ll stay with the 21 gauge. Getting poked doesn’t hurt and the oil goes in much more easily.

I use 25 guage needles exclusively. I heat up the loaded syringe in a heating pad for 30 minutes to an hour before injection. Flows MUCH MUCH easier than cold oil.

Thanks, RJ! That’s a great tip! You always give great advice and I want you to know that I truly appreciate it. I’ll try that next time!

go with redicat if you don’t like shots.

Where from? I haven’t found them that cheaply. thanks!

I go with 23ga. I find the real small ones make the oil squirt harder even though the oil is actually going in slower. Kind of like a hose that is running freely compared to one that is restricted and shooting a stream…

thanks for the injection site good stuff.

has anyone had similar result as headhunter leg vs glute injection better results i was thinking about a leg shot next week been getting 300mg every 2 weeks i dont feel anything.

The beauty of the leg shot is that you can do it yourself. Just be very careful. I had the Spot Injection site up on my computer screen during the injection and followed the directions there.

Especially use the alchohol to clean the top of the vial and your skin where you’ll inject. Be sure to pull back slightly and look for blood, in case you hit a vein (I almost forgot but had it on the screen.)

After 3 glute shots, btw, my Test came back at 280 (240- 950 ng/dl is my range). Granted, the blood was drawn 3 weeks after a shot, so it’d be low but that’s terrible.

I’ve only done thigh shots, so I can’t say they’re “better” than glute shots.

But, they are easy to do by yourself and I do get good results. Usually completely pain free though I seem to hack nicked a vein a couple of times lately; bad luck I guess! I didn’t inject into the vein, I just had some blood flow after withdrawing the needle.
