That’s mostly irrelevant, normal is a little different depending on the individual, determined by genes, steroid metabolism, gene CAG repeats long/short and medical problems.
You can have normal testosterone and a testosterone deficiency. Nowhere in the medical literature does it say levels have to be below range to have a testosterone deficiency, cutoff points are arbitrary.
Dr. Abraham Morgentaler, an expert on testosterone says the normal ranges are all but useless.
Depends on the lab testing methodology. Even then, the “range” is large. Quest uses 250-1100. Which “normal” do you want to be, 350, 700, 1000? Best to go by how you feel, and don’t worry about a number.
This is going to be a problem, especially at every three week dosing. Hopefully, you’ll be able to go to every two weeks, if not one. Good luck.
Yes i get what you’re both saying, i just wish urologist saw it like that! I’ve been referred to an endocrinologist, hopefully he’ll have a different view.
The issue is atm he is saying:
“As a general principal, however he can have his next injection between 11 and 12 week point as long as the testosterone level is not still above the normal range”.
(The 11 and 12 week is regarding Nebido).
I will definitely be pushing for every 2 wks on Sustanon (he has said the 3 week dose can be titrated to clinical benefit or serum test levels), but believe hes going to want to see bloods again, before agreeing to this… but as hes agreed between a week earlier on Nebido, hopefully will have same view on Sustanon.
My normal range IMO would be high, around 700-900, as that is where you feel the best apparently? But dont think GP or Urologist will see it like that…
If i end up on every 2 weeks, do you think this would benefit me? Should be much better than Nebido at least?!
Hi lads, I got to 8/9 weeks for having Nebido and started feeling like crap had breathing issues (feels like from inflammation, joints aching, anxiety skyrocketed, brain fog etc, libido downhill), then took a few extra weeks sorting appointment out for switchover to Sustanon 250, nurse booked me back in on a Bank Holiday stupid women, urologist wanted blood test to ensure test was in normal levels and not above range, or he will not allow another test injection!
Anyway eventually, ive managed to get a Sustanon injection felt a little better but still dont feel great tbh, its been 2 days… but feel as if i’m on a bit of a emotional rollercoaster, is this normal when switching? Still aching joints and feel weak??
I’m trying to get booked in exactly 2 wks (instead of the 3) so managed to get an appointment for this…
The nurse injected me but my butt is killing, and seems to hurt more than the Nebido injection which was 4 ml! Im worried about getting another injection in there in a few weeks (after alternating to other cheek!)
Too little information to be answering any questions with any degree of accuracy. You say the nurse injected Sustanon, but not how much or how often, or where your hormones currently sits.
Just been feeling strange and still suffering from some withdrawal symptoms (tight chest, weakness, fatigue) even though had Sust, could it be due to switch from Nebido to Sust?
I can’t believe these doctors are treating you like a baby, diabetics are taught to self inject. I suggest you find better care.
You’re not going to get better under the care of these doctors. Front loading medicine like your doctors are doing will increase the chances of you experiencing side effects of hormone excess days after your injections.
Dozens of men in the UK, self inject Sustanon all the time, at different intervals depending on the patients needs. Putting everyone on the same protocol is a recipe for disaster for a good number of men.
Treatment needs to be individualized to the patient needs. If your doctors don’t understand this, then they can’t help you.
I understand what youre saying and appreciate it. Unfortunately in the UK we just are not that fortunate for some stupid reason! Drs will not allow to self-inject testosterone.
Can you explain the side effects of hormone excess days after injection pls what you mean
This service is available for private clinics if you are rich and have £300 for an initial consultation and then £40 per monthly for testosterone and then more for bloods also, which if you went ‘Underground’ for the same test (or better) it would cost £40 for approx 6 months worth, its all about £££ which unfortunately i don’t have at the moment.
You mentioned that Sustanon 250 shouldn’t be dosed beyond 2 weeks, which I am nearly at that stage and hopefully will receive it at this rate, would this not be sufficient, i can understand there will be some peaks and troughs, but if it’s doing the job its supposed to and i will see benefits, then i’m happy to do this for now… the other alternatives is go ‘underground’ for it, but then i have no assistance from any docs/specialists which i dont really want to do, or pay ridiculous money which i cant do…
I’ve come off Nebido and got on Sust, and from 3 wks to 2, hopefully i thought this would be a step in right direction??
If this is the case, then i’ll see if symptoms change in next few days, which im guessing should do as had Sust so as the multiple esters run through should feel a bit better at least? Hard to explain but as the Nebido has diminished I’ve had some chest aches and shortness of breath etc, I’m guessing it’s down to having a massive amount of test and then nothing towards the end? So prob withdrawals etc, feels a bit like inflammation returning, soon as I had Sust it seemed to subside, but then I’ve had the other symptoms I mentioned however as discussed, maybe due to change to Sust
Yes they do, and on a regular basis, your doctor doesn’t. You have taken the path of least resistance and rolled over and accepted it instead of locating a doctor that allows for self injection.
You need to demand some dignity and humane treatment.
Correct, to take advantage of the multiple half-life esters, every 14 days or less, however this isn’t to say everyone will respond ideally every 14 days. Some will need smaller more frequent injections to alleviate side effects of treatment, something I doubt your doctor understands.
I haven’t managed to respond as been real busy with work etc however please see as follows:
You have mentioned the above and I appreciate and respect that, but just to clarify the reason why i’ve taken this path, it is certainly not due to rolling over and finding and just accepting it! It’s due to funding reasons, please see the following again:

Ive read your comment about your nephew being a 6 yr old etc and it sounds like you’re comparing my situation? However, again to kindly clarify, where I am based (in Leeds), its extremely difficult to get an appointment with a Dr, never mind find a more suitable one! I have been through the Drs, they were useless! I got referred through private medical care which costs through the roof tbh, and got this urologist who has stupid dosage protocols!
I am being referred to an endocrinologist who will hopefully have a better dosing protocol and will offer alternative esters, but i just cant afford it! So as you hopefully see, it’s far from just rolling over and just accepting it! I’m just stuck due to financial constraints i’m afraid! I’d love to ask for humane and dignified treatment, however as can’t pay stupid money yet, i cant see this being available through our dismantled NHS at this time.
As you know, ive tried Nebido and now on Sustanon 250.
Ive now tried this Sustanon 250 which felt ok for 3 days, but then i’ve felt hot flushes/surges! Some breathing issues, a little blurred vision at times and BP has increased and dropped again, headaches galore, anger issues, but i feel so up and down, do you think if it was more frequent and smaller injections, this would alleviate these symptoms?? Or is this signs i need a different ester again?
I’ve managed to get next injection booked for next week, but i’m worrying now, as dont want to go through what i am again?!
