- Fat-ass pull-ups, and Cossack squats
First step towards the meet! Changed my grip on BP (better power delivery, and no more sore wrists). Also managed to get the tumbless grip going for my squat… it will take some getting use to, but I think it’ll be worth it.
Nice work. Good looking pulls. Good looking work all the way around.
Nice lifting Schmidt. Good form. I love all those colour coded plates.
Are you going to be posting some squat vids? and what’s a cossack squat btw?
Was about to ask the same on the cassock squat.
Thanks for the kind words! I do have a squat video, I’ll see if I can’t dig it out.
The cossack squat is a brilliant for hip mobility and strength.
Last set of five @ 125 kg
…something is kinda F-ed up with that upload
Speed squatting!!! Awesome!
Nice work.

… My hands were fucked-up and I couldn’t hold on to anything. I’ll do my own thing for DL from now on, I hate this partial sh*t (the first part anyways)
- lunges and cossack squats.
The cassock squats look like they could become brutal very quickly. Like really deep Romanian DL’s make the ham’s feel like they are ripping off the bone, the cassock’s look like they would do the same to about the whole upper leg area, heh. Not to mention burn like crazy after a few reps.

That was a ton of bench pressing on Friday.
I’ve got to ask what’s a “deadbench”?

A dead bench is when you do benches off pins. With the pins set right at chest level. The whole purpose is to eliminate the stretch reflex.

Oh I do those, I just didn’t know that’s what they’re called.
Thanks for filling in Bulldog!

1*5 @ 190 kg PR!!!
Not a bad day at the gym… I’m down 13-15 kg since mid January so I’m happy as f*#k with that PR. The only lift that really suffers from the weight drop is the squat.
This turned out to be the last session this week, gonna have to fit in an extra squat training next week. I’ll try to go up towards 90% just to get a feel for the weight.
Nice work, Schmidt. And great job on the weight loss.
I think going up, to get a feel for the weight, is a great idea. I think that is why the weight on my bench, and possibly MP, is feeling so damned heavy, even though I get the reps. I may copy your idea and do a couple of heavier singles, just to get the feel of it again.
Haven’t posted anything for 3 month… so it’s time to get going again. I haven’t given up training completely, but there has been a few bumps in the road.
The technical stuff: Squat and Dead sucks (weightloss has taken its toll… I’m currently aroung 98-99 kg), bench is almost up to standard but not quite.
As of this comming Tuesday I’m back on Wendler with a 2 day/week plan (Bench/dead and Mili/squat).
Also, I’ve gotten my self into a bet with my brother that involves a 5k river swim next June, so I’ll have to start swimming again.
See you on tuesday.
