RDL: 3x11 @ 95 lbs
Flat Bench Press: 3x10, 30 lb DBs
Bodyweight Rows: 3x10

So I was seriously considering joining a Crossfit gym - I need a way to meet people after all my friends head back to college - but 9 sessions cost $200!!! Who can afford to spend that much money??? Well, someone with a decent job - but certainly not a recent graduate. Sad, cuz I really wanted to try it.
Feel the urge to update this log…I’ve been following along with all the PW’s logs and been impressed, but too lazy to write in my own
I know that on this website you have to put up (videos) or shut up - the reality is I don’t own a video or camera, can’t afford one, and am too shy to tape myself at the gym. I’m also aware that only the first two reasons are legitimate excuses. Hopefully this will suffice in the meantime…it’s a bit old and hopefully where I’ll be after I get my diet back into shape:
Other updates - got a real, full time, permanent job that I love - long hours that makes training more challenging, but I still manage 4 - 5 times a week.
Current PRs:
Squat: 125x5 (did this with a PT who watched to make sure I was going to proper depth)
Deadlift: 1x165 with HORRIBLE form; 135x3 with good form
OHP: 65x5
Bench: 75x5 (haven’t done this in a while…)
Thrusters: 80x3
Thanks, Masch! I pull conventional - have to say, deadlift is my least favorite lift. It’s a constant battle against rounding my back.
I’ve been working in midtown for the past 4 months - and I’ve had enough of my hour+ commute. I’m planning on rooming with a friend from school - but it’s hard to find a 2 bedroom in Manhattan, in a safe area, on an entry level salary I cannot WAIT until I’m officially a New Yorker…the suburbs are no place for a 21 year old! Apartment hunting this weekend.
Training:
5 minute warmup on bike
OHP: 1x8xOLY bar, 1x5x55, 3x5x65
BW Dips, 4x3
DB Incline Bench: 1x9x25 lb DBs, 3x6x30 lb DBs
Seated Cable Rows: 4x6x60 lbs
Isn’t it weird to have an OHP that’s almost equivalent to my bench? I feel like I’m muscularly imbalanced or something - my shoulders are way stronger than my back or chest.
ive been avoiding my bench for the past month…but i think its probably somewhere around 80.
Friday’s training - or should I say “workout date”…explanation after:
10 minutes stairmaster
leg extensions: 3 sets of 20, 50 lbs
squats, holding 25 lb plate: 3x20
back squat: 8x95, 15x115, 8x125, 6x135, 5x145, 5x155 (PR!!!)
hack squat strip sets (these suck - never doing them again, felt them in my lower back): machine + 50 lbsx10, + 100 lbsx10, + 150 lbsx10, + 170 lbsx10 (then gradually take plates off, sets of 10, in reverse)
bodyweight walking lunges across gym and back
leg extensions: 3 sets of 15, 65 lbs
10 lunges, 17.5 lb DBs, superset w/ 10 squats, DBS overhead (3x)
10 minutes stairmaster
Basically, a trainer at my gym asked to work out with me…i guess he isn’t used to women who lift. He’s really sweet, sent me a number of texts throughout the week, and definitely pushed me to the limit. But am I interested in dating him? Don’t think so…after our workout session, he texted me that he had “the biggest crush” on me. I kinda felt like I was in middle school all over again. Also, I’m really turned off by the fact that there are spelling errors in his text msgs…and yes, I’m aware that this is a very lame turnoff! Oh well, can’t force attraction.
