Rymon Log of Lifting

guys… i ask this… is it really the more fat u got the slower u gain muscle?
my hest is the part i can see rly growing… bicpes is on fire baby  im happy with arm now

There is no best exercise because different people have different limb lengths, body proportions and stronger/weaker assisting muscles which affect the actual tension placed on the intended muscle when doing an exercise. You can play around with different exercises after getting your main work done if you want but I advise you to work on your mind muscle connection instead.

NOOOOO this is broscience. Unless you are almost morbidly obese you don’t have to worry about any of this shit. Please stop reading this internet nonsense.

am i obese ? ? sorry the word has alot of meaning…

I have to echo this most strongly.

There is a huge amount of garbage out there in internet land. You need to be very, very selective about what you read and how much credence you give it. Anything on T-Nation is fine. Same goes for anyone who writes for those pages (Paul Carter, Charles Poliquin, Jim Wendler, John Meadows, etc).

No, you are not obese.

i only read to them and pbak… and ct the guy here…

I would be careful about relying too much on Pakulski. I’ve heard he’s lifted a bunch of his content from other, more knowledgeable, writers without their consent. Greg Nuckols posted a few times on facebook about it as it was his material. Very different to CT who really knows his stuff.

okay  scale says 185 now

my porblem is the ohervead press… accoding to ben u doing triceps and triceps only… the foream toching upper arm… the angle of elbowe means tricpes taking the whole load … so idk… i even stopped doing pressing…doing dumbell press instead… where foram is 90 to floor and idk… idk if that was right or wrong… @dt79 tagged u so u can see this… thanks

I think you must have misinterpreted what he said because this does not sound logical to me.

it was a vid of him showing it… and saying that…

To me it sounds like you’re massively overthinking how to press. Set your grip, unrack the bar, walk it out and you’re good to go. Pull your shoulderblades back and down, squeeze your midsection and glutes and press up keeping the bar as close to you as possible. Don’t forget to get your head out out of the way. Lock it out, lower the bar back down. Repeat.

why is that important? to big lifts? should i be doing that on squat too ?
i didchest wokrout of 5 moves 3 press an 2 fly and it \KILLED my pecs… 2 of them was incline …
my chest is so dam sore…
also for my food now… i eat kinda free… i eat normal bread… sometimes… still scared of fat gains… i hate being not the best in the world athetle… …

I keeps your shoulders stable and upper back right. Yes, do it for squats. Also bench press.

why every time i do legs only glutes … is killing me next day… jay cutler why does he say no set taken to faliure been done in 20 year wtf… and he does tons of voulme … ddoes that work? how did he gain any muscle not going to 1 set of faliure…
@dt79 bro he does 6 moves triceps and biceps… he said no faliure at all…he may know thing or 2 what u thnk ? last time i did 4 moves for biceps instead of 3 and finally its sore…
look what jay says I judged [the effectiveness of a workout] by how sore I was afterward. At the peak of my career, I’d get incredibly sore. I mean I’d be sore for days and days and days."
“If you’re a bodybuilder, you shouldn’t be concerned with how much weight you can lift,” . “Everyone’s got particular lifts they’re fairly strong on. Some guys can bench press tons of weight; other guys can’t. I was one of those guys who could never curl a lot of weight, but I had almost 23-inch arms.”
You can’t do both high-volume and high-intensity; you have to pick one or the other," Cutler says. "I’m a 20-plus set guy. I’d do 20 sets no matter whether the body part was chest or biceps. It didn’t matter. For back it was up to 30 sets. And 35 sets for legs. Your nervous system can take only so much abuse.

I can quote just as many bodybuilders who will tell you soreness means nothing. It’s up to you whether you want to listen or not.

What type of failure? Can you contract a muscle as hard and explosively as Jay Cutler? When you do an exercise, how close to failure can you bring the intended muscle before the other muscles take over? When you go to failure it is not the same as Jay Cutler going to failure.

You have not built your mind muscle connection yet. I keep saying this but you are more concerned with trying to find the best new exercise to hit each bodypart. If you don’t lift progressively heavier weights now, you will not grow.

When Jay Cutler says he does 4 sets, he usually means this:

Bench Press

Set 1: 60kg, Set 2, 100kg, Set 3, 140kg, Set 4: 180kg

If he does 20 sets for 5 exercises, that’s only 4 top sets(“working sets”).

This was how we described our workouts before the internet. People didn’t have any misunderstanding because we trained with bigger and stronger guys and followed what they did.

how to build it?[quote=“dt79, post:240, topic:216814”]

i dont try new moves… i try to understand more… whats builds muscle? also i use heavier wight… that how i bench more now [quote=“dt79, post:240, topic:216814”]
Set 1: 60kg, Set 2, 100kg, Set 3, 140kg, Set 4: 180kg

if he an do 180 why to do 60

Practice.

Sorry, I may have misunderstood you. [quote=“rymon511, post:241, topic:216814”]

Progression. Progression in weight, reps, better contraction, more work done in the same time, etc. This is what gives your body a reason to grow. Food will fuel the growth.[quote=“rymon511, post:241, topic:216814”]
? also i use heavier wight… that how i bench more now

That’s great.

Preparing the body for the top set. Someone like Jay Cutler has the experience and body awareness to train instinctively. You will notice he rarely ever does the same workout if you watch his videos.

I can’t quite believe I’m saying this, but for a while stop trying to understand more. Just go in, do the work, eat the food and be done with it. You’ll learn more that way.

@dt79 maybe you could express that better? My brain isn’t working so well this morning.
