Russian Weightlifters

Oleg Pereptchenov’s 210 kg c & j is untouched. This is even better than Sagir’s lift… well kinda. Taner Sagir was a teen when he set a world record so…

That’s a cool photo.

You’re kidding lol, OMGZ YEZ UR RITZZZZZZZZZ!! seriously this kid will probably grow to be a super heavy weight. Looking jack unlike all those “shorty” piggy looking Chinese heavy weights.

Here’s my coach Oleg hitting a 195kg C&J at the Arnold a while back.

A lurker thought this should get posted so why not

Untouched, eh? Except for the 210 done by Alexander Varbanov @ 75kg, and the 210.5 by Mincho Pashov @ 75kg, and the 211 done by Zdravko Stoichkov @ 75kg, and the 211.5 by Varbanov @ 75kg, and the 212 by Varbanov @ 75kg, and the 212.5 by Varbanov @ 75kg, and the 215 by Varbanov @ 75kg, and also the 215.5 by Varbanov @ 75kg that was also more than was ever lifted by that fellow in your avatar there…

Where is it? If it ain’t official, it doesn’t count. Even if some chinese weightlifter “Chichichuchi Chichichu” or some russian weightlifter “Kazhkutviridudnik” have in fact clean and jerked 1000 pounds at a bodyweight of 50 pounds, no one gives a shit until it actually was proven to have happened.

Any video?..

Or atleast some reliable source please?

Did you think I just made these numbers up? These are the last sequence of world records from the old 75kg weight category. You can see them and all the others from the liftup site from Mr. Chidlovski.

Be warned, however, you are going to see the very rich and fascinating history of the sport and also all your current lifting heroes in a new light and you may also understand why I keep saying that fellow in your avatar is overrated. Your welcome, enjoy.

I’m sorry but calling Dimas Overrated is kind of out of hand. No one who has won gold medal in the Olympics in sequence can be called “overated”, yes he is a big face for the sport BUT credit where is due, the guy is/was a beast.

These are impressive athletes, but this thread seems to be carrying a slightly homoerotic undertone.

A word of wisdom from me.

No one is overrated unless you’re better than everyone.

Anyway… I really really have alot of “what ifs” in weightlifters, such as…

What if Taner Sagir competed in powerlifting (when he was 17 years old)? How much easily would he be able to beat the current world record in his weightclass?

What if Dmitry Klokov, at his prime as a weightlifter (although I don’t know if he is still in it), was trained as an MME fighter, was taught how to punch, kick, knee, choke, etc. and joined the UFC? How many people would he kill?

Do you think guys like Rezazadeh and Krastev would’ve been able clean and jerk 600 pounds? In Rezazadeh’s case, it was just a few pounds away. In Krastev, there have been rumors about his 235 kg SNATCH while training.

How high is the average ELITE weightlifter’s vertical jump?

What if Leonid Taranenko was in the NFL during his prime as a weightlifter? How many linebackers would he juggle?

Would you be willing to get yourself uppercutted by an elite weightlifter for 100 thousand dollars? (With your insurance covering EVERYTHING!)

…Oh, and thanks for the info. I love Chidlovski.net.

what a wanker

I love the Russian weightlifters and follow the history with great interest. Becasuse I am from the usa, we have no one to follow here :-). We have crappy health clubs and crossfit gurus everywhere. Those don’t make you better athletes or weightlifting champions. Every guy who’s picture is shown or past olympian mentioned isn’t training on machines, doing HIT, high rep barbell complexes, etc. So why do we?

It’s a different thing man…the Crossfit guys will be decent all arounds and good at endurance but they won’t be specialised in anyone thing unless they really focus on that. They have a different training ideology then say a PL or OL’er who wants to shift as much as possible. NOT FOR REPS man…

Koing

Because not everyone wants to be only good at clean and jerk or snatch.
