15-17% bf(guestimate really don’t know for sure, but I feel like this is pretty accurate) I have pretty much slipped into the typical North American diet aside from supplemented fish oil and protein shakes. My bodyfat is distributed pretty evenly across my body, but more of it sits in my lower body, hips, and lower back. I am a FFB as Shugs calls it.
I reverted back into a fatboy a couple times when I was younger. I leaned out again as a teenager during wrestling. I want to get back into a grappling sport. I feel the extra bodyfat I’m carrying is limiting my conditioning and also my ability to compete at a lower weight class where I would be stronger at.
I want to use the V-diet to help jump start my progress on my body comp. I will use this and then possibly make the transition into the Grappler’s Guide to Sports Nutrition. I want to start the diet this coming Monday and will use the rest of this week as a deload/ preperation week in my training. I’m considering a couple different routines for my strength training. MR’s Designer athletes looks promising.
I will also throw in some energy systems work(sledgehammer, light tire flipping for time/ distance, shorter intervals if i feel up for it)I have run variations of a low carb diet before so I’m not too worried about the “bonk” and I have a fairly high work capacity. It hasn’t been uncommon for me to complete 6-9 full body workouts(where every single movement was a compound ball buster) in a week for this past year.
I am looking forward to this. I miss being on the mats bigtime…
Just wanted to put in here that I am really looking forward starting this. I enjoy the accountability of being part of a group. I’ll probably recreate this after I finish the diet.
Thanks alot man. I anticipate some wild stories because of how much I love eating! On top of that I work in restaraunt so we’ll see how this goes.
Also as far as supplements I’m trying to decide on a fat burner and a protein source. I’m thinking maybe metabolic thyrolean instead of HOT-ROX? Will Brink gave a good review on it… Also I’m thinking of using either ON’s 100% Cassien or Pro Complex. Any reccomendations?
Honestly i cant be of much help, im from Australia, the supps we have access to are far diff. to what you can get! We cant get anything with yohimbine in it, but we can buy pure yohimbine from health shops.
I use a pure casein, but i have used Biotest Metabolic Drive before & it tastes awesome. Check out some independant forums… i have used some effective fat burners here but you have access to far better ones there!
I ended picking up some Pro Complex and some metabolic thyrolean. If I had more of the Biotest stuff in the stores i would be all over it. Heres my supp list btw.
-SI Pro Plex or something like that. Its a cassien, egg, whey combo.
-ON Pro Complex
-ZMA
-Yohimbe EX
-Tribulus
-Vitex Castus Agnus
-Creatine
-Metabolic Thyrolean
I also have some IDS ripped tabs that I’ve had for awhile and I’m debating on whether or not its BS or for real. Prolly BS but ill do my homework.
After some debate I’ve decided on a Jimmy Smith/ TC influended push/pull routine. Working out the details, but I plan on hitting the gym 4 days a week with this along with 3 days of energy systems work.
As soon as I come up with the program I’ll throw it up here. Oh and before I forget I will be using half a serving of cytogainer as my PWO drink.

Dude, I went through 10-12 cans of Metabolic Drive while on the V-Diet. That means free shipping.
Use whatever brand of supplements you want. I make no $$$ and have no affiliation with Biotest. But spare us the, “Damn, finding Biotest stuff is just to hard!” line.
BTW, based on the stuff you’re using, I predict will you fail on the diet. I do not wish you ill. But the stuff you have is subpar for this diet.
(I actually think Brink has had a lot of valuable things to say over the years. But buying something based on what a “guru” says about it is just plain stupid.)

I’ve read into it a little deeper than just him giving it the ok. I don’t believe everything I read. I made the judgement based on more than just Brink’s review. Just becuase he advocates soy doesn’t mean I’m going to immediately go buy a 5lb tub of that shit. He likes soy I don’t. Don’t worry Cali I’m capable of independent thought I promise.
