Just one very quick question. I’m heard from many different people, all whom have many different opinions, and as yest have not found a valid response. Is it proper/beneficial to work chest and biceps on the same day? How about back and triceps? Thanks for the help…
I think it would probably be a great investment for you to buy Ian Kings book “get buffed.” Im sure alot of people on here would agree.
Here is a response from someone who has tried it, without giving you other articles to look at. When I tried it I was doing chest and tris, back and bis, the swith really helped me because I was pre-tireing my tris and my bis during my workouts. When I switched I was able to do a lot more weight both on curls and my tri excercises. It was a great change and caused me to grow because I could handle a lot more weight. My bis and tris were used to handling all that bench work and back work before hand and responded great to not having to be worked through those compound workouts first so I could use a lot more weight and could concentrate on them. So if you are usint a chest and tris, back and bis workout I think this switch will help you the most. If you are allready training arms seperately you wont experience the same kind of shock. And as we all know it is all about shock. Hope this helps.
What do mean valid response? Anyway, there’s nothing wrong with working the muscles opposite each other on the same day. Charles Poliquin even recommends it.
Yeah, Jamie… s2 is right. You oughta check out Ian King’s book. I think I saw it listed in the Biotest special discount page. You will learn more than you ever imagined. It’s really easy to understand. Ian King’s ideas of balancing pushing & pulling and hip/quad dominant workouts have completely changed my body and the way I think about training.
proper/beneficial…what are your goals?
What s2 said. Also check out the Poliquin Principles.
Once you educate yourself, you won’t have to rely on others to provide you with a “valid” opinon.
as for me,i do chest, back and tris one day and then shoulders,bi’s,forearms and abs another day.my third training day i do legs only which is primarily alot of squats.i am on a three day a week lifting schedule and i play volleyball three other days.works for me so far.my tri’s i do 4 sets of lying down ez tri extensions and that does the trick for me.i find that my arms are fairly tired after doing the bench and dips so the tri work is the last sets i do for the day.best of luck
