Round Boyz Gone Ripped

oh no.
I wish.
although, I thought that I would absolutely love eating on the carb up days. Especially after being starved, but it was kind of a pain. I was shoving honey nut cheerios in my mouth all day and baked lays. It jsut kind of got old. I kind of enjoyed the strict days where I knew exactly what was going in and when. and it was such little quantity, I could look forward to the next meal. sounds wierd, huh? Although, I dont think I have ever enjoyed a meal more than when I went to Carraba’s after my workout on sunday. oh dear lordy.

PS – I just pinched in at 14.5% and 15% BFP (did it twice). weight is 225.

Nice job jodgey, you are making a good competition out of this.

I’m down about 4% myself so not out of the race yet.

Refeed days have worked out well for me, stuck em both so far on event days (4th of july and daughter bday) so they made it vastly easier to eat on those days. I can pretty much handle eating clean at home or even other people’s houses, but it’s extremely hard when out where there is no fridge and only a grill for limited time span.

So i had homemade cookies, breads, pasta, cereal, fruits and small protein rations each meal. Was quite nice.
And no headaches… woot! first time in years that i’ve fluctuated carbs a lot from one day to another and not had headaches from it.

Wow you guys are going top speed!

It’s a bit stressfull this week as my wife and I are finally moving into our home, but I managed to drop 1% so far! w00t!!

Because we’re not really buying very many groceries due to the move, I’m getting very close to using the Fat Fast diet method for this short period of time…maybe I can use that to shift myself into the CD plan?? That’s what I’m thinking anyways…

C’mon let’s get to it, I know that we can do it!

every little bit counts.
yesterday I pinched 13.5%.
Final CD tally will come monday, after my last strict day.
keep it coming.
hey peri, what about you? Where have you been hiding?
and antilib, nice work on dropping 4%. I hear you on the difficulty with eating away from home. luckily, I am a grad student and can come in later. It takes me about an hour and a half every morning to cook and eat breakfast and then prepare my meals for the rest of the day. I thought that was why I had a girlfriend. Maybe that is why she moved to virginia. hmmmmm. . . .

Well jodgey eating away from home isn’t quite as common for me, I do work at home. Just with family, special occasions and so on I have found it’s nice to stick that refeed day during those.

Now it seems my weight loss is more in line with fat loss, only dropped a pound or so during this last cycle in weight. I am actually gaining on lifts too so hopefully the lbm is holding steady and even gaining a little.

Still is hard though when I look in mirror and can’t see abs or have any clue what my spinal erectors look like. I think that lower back fat is the worst spot I have, man will that be nice to eliminate.

It’s getting really easy to keep on the tdawg also, just have to stay on top of my supply of meats. I’ve been trying to do it with very little powder use (only 1.5 servings of it per day) and most of that is to cover up the taste of flax oil in my cottage cheese…lol

hi guys! Well, I’ve started T-Dawg 2.0 the day before yesterday, with a classic 3-day split, starting cardio (400m runs) tomorrow morning. I’m 198 pounds, 5’10", my waist is 89 centimeters, and I don’t have a clue as to what my BF% is, as I ordered my Accu-measure calipes yesterday, and I’ll get them in no less than 3 weeks.

Hey ssantic.

Have you posted any pics? We could give you a very rough BF estimate on that.

Otherwise I guess by your numbers I would say high teens, hard to really say much though. Your waist comes out to show some fat I would guess.

You must be not in usa with that 3 week delivery time.

Welcome to the party ssantic! I’m still getting used to my calipers. I ended up getting the AccuFitness digital calipers…

Hey ssantic –

welcome to the ‘post hot roxx inferno’ inferno. As far as the accu-fitness, awesome calipers, but I have a hard time getting them to collect data on the chest. it usually takes about five minutes. As eyuzwa said, it takes practice. dont throw them against the wall.

Antilib-- I feel you on the abs and back. I take pics and can see differences, but the abs are still nowhere to be seen. Im positive my ab development is severely lacking, so it’ll take that much longer for me to see them.
I was looking at T-dawg today and reallized that it is virtually no different than cheaters diet strict day, except for the caloric intake being higher on Tdawg 2.0. My daily carb intake on CD was around 60 g.
Oh and one more thing. you mentioned getting your daily meat under control. If you were referring to meat cost, alberston’s is the best place to go, especially about 15 minutes before the butcher closes. Never get the prepackaged meat, but go to the butcher’s counter. Everyday they have to get rid of their ground beef, and at the end of the day you will usually find really good deals on it. also the bnlss/sknlss chix is about $2/lb, which is about $2.50 cheaper than any other place in town, even cheaper than the frozen 5 lb bags, and tastes much better.
OR, if you happen to live in a university town, like gainesville florida, you can go to the university butcher and get steaks for $2 per ribeye, and chicken breasts for like $1/lb.

ssantic: Are you talking about the fattrack II digital calipers? If so that is what I have, they are really nice to use. Can quickly knock out several measurements and it recalls last 3 of them.

Jodgey: Thanks for info, actually I was just referring to having enough meats on hand. I buy almost all my meat at sam’s club, they seem to be much cheaper than the other big chains around here and also quality is decent.
I’m talking about having a nice variety on hand and having enough of it ready to go. Really makes it hard to get meals every 2.5 hours or so if I have to cook something the whole way every meal. So I have things that I cook en masse (roasts/chicken breasts) and some that I cook fresh (steaks/salmon). Mix that with stuff like tuna and eggs and I get enough variety.

Doing so at least allows me to eat something “quick” if I run out of time, and also gives enough variety. Nothing kills a diet faster than opening a fridge at meal time and finding no meat and only a bunch of carb sources. That happens too much and it’s ugly, meals get too far spread out and worse things could happen (like resorting to powder/bars too often).

EXACTLY. The pwoer in my place got shut off two days ago. . long story, but I was subleasng for the summer, and everyone else moved out and had their mail forwarded. I recieved no bills, and got no calls about needing money. so, I forged on. The elec got shut off, and now I am crashing on a couch, and much of my protein is coming from powders and grow bars. not optimal. I move into my new place in two weeks.

BTW, Im starting T-dawg 2.0 on monday. and Joel Marions New and improved Ripped, rugged, and dense. My fat loss may slow a bit, but I might get some much needed strength improvements.

I think that last post rembled without making a point. I was agreeing with the fact having no meat source readily available really kills your momentum. making due with MRPs will do, but it really sucks.
Thats all.

Hey fellas,

First time I’ve posted to the forum so be gentle. You guys seem so knowledgeable and willing to share advice that I hoped I might get some help. Here’s my stats: 28 years old, 5’ 10" , 175 lbs. I’ve been on a modified low carb diet for about 4 months and have had pretty good success. I’m down from 205 lbs, a 36 pant size to a 32. I work out on a Mon, Wed, Fri schedule concentrating on chest, back and arms. I’m fairly active, playing tennis usually twice a week, basketball one night a week, and surfing whenever its decent{I’m on the East Coast, not too far from Hatteras}. A big question I have is should I be doing straight sprint interval cardio sessions also? I guess it would speed up the process, but my joints, especially the knees, are starting to go.
Here’s my diet: four or five cans tuna fish with the water drained spread out thru out the day. I usually cut up tomatoes and broccoli to go with it. I saw someone mention meat from Sam’s, thats where I go also.Ibuy the frozen chken breasts pack for ten bucks. I cant cook worth a damn, but use the Foreman grill. I allow myself one cheat day a week.
Ok , you can see I’m long winded so I’ll just ask my questions now.

1.Cardio? Am I getting enough?
2.Diet? What should I change? My fat loss seems to have stalled.
3.Electronic scales that measure bodyfat. I’ve got the type you input your height and sex, it calculates your weight and then body fat percentage. I dont think these are very accurate, are they? Do they average higher or lower than calipers? I’ve dropped from 24% to 20% in two weeks time. Seems a little off…
Thanks for any input you can offer. I wish you guys the best of luck

                          Laird

Hi guys!
Well, I’ll post the pics as soon as I get someone who has a digital camera, but I have a lot of fat, at least 15%, as there is NO sign of my abs, and I’ve got love handles ahoy!

As far as the calipers, I got the plastic Accu-Measure calipers suggested in Norcross’ ‘Body Compostition for Beginners’ article - I payed 12 dollars for them. I hope they do the trick.

As far as supplementation goes for me, I won’t be using Hot-Rox or any other Biotest products 'cause I can’t get them here, but I WILL be using ephedrine (25mg twice a day, if I can figure out a way to cut the damn 50mg tabs in half).

Cheers!

lets see. First, pick a diet here on Tmag. there are two main diets for fat loss about now. Not that they are the only ones, but they certainly work . . . well. . . .for many people. there is Tdawg 2.0, a low carb, high protein and fat diet that sheds fat like a mofo. this is posted on T-mag. I havent tried it, but will start it on monday.
Also, Cheaters diet. posted on the T-forums. I have seen unreal results that have exceeded my wildest expectations from this one. I dropped 4% BF in two+ weeks, while maintaining my bodyweight. you NEED to have an androgenic supplement to combat the massive lean body mass loss that would accompany the severe calorie restriction. I used Mag-10. I also used hot roxx, another biotest wonder supp that melts fat away.
Some will tell you that you can overthink your diet, and just make sure to workout hard. I think that is fine for some people, but for me getting my diet in order is the single most important part of making physique progress. that means plan out your diet and follow it to the T. Read the hot roxx challenge winners reports. you’ll notice that they too were regimented in their diets. But it also means no sneaking off to the fridge for some hot fudge sundaes. for me it has also meant I was designated driver for the past three weeks.
But the sacrifice was well worth it, as my man tits have shrunk to pre-teen girl levels.
The accufitness fat track II is an AWESOME caliper BFP measurement device. I get most of my supps at vitaplus.net. The guy is cool, he sells shit really cheap, although it takes a while for stuff to ship, so be prepared to wait about a week and a few days after you order.
I forgot your other question. If it was about training, picka program and go with it. There are a lot of really smart guys on this board. Use them, and use thier advice.

I posted this on another thread, but if anyone wants a copy of my excel spreadsheet diet/training log, I would be happy to email it to you. Just PM me with your email address.
It works really well. I have asked several people for critique, but havent gotten one yet.

Electronic scales are pretty worthless for BF accuracy. Just use em as scales, that BF number they give is not going to mean much.

As far as cheat days, it depends on what you are eating on those days. Joel Marion wrote a nice article on it about leptin levels and eating certain foods on cheat days to get them back up, and it certainly seems to work.

Yo jodgey, that spreadsheet is sick… If only you had every diet from T-mag  Seriously, thanks for taking the time to do that, it is much appreciated.

I started on it. Like Massive eating, and Dont Diet. But I got side tracked. perhaps some day real soon, they might be included.
In fact, I started a thread asking what diets people wanted on it. Tdawg 2 was really the only response I got.

Anyway, glad you liked it.

Agreed…the spreadsheets you put together really rock J. Thanks a lot, and sorry for not getting back to you about it.

I’m gonna be starting the TDawg2.0 next week as well…

I should be able to afford some androgens in about a month or so, so I’ll try out the CD then…
