WE HAVE THE SAME BELT!!! Mine is navy though.
This excites me, especially with the odd random girl crush I have on you, HA-HA.
You are super strong, holy man. I did not realize this until now.
Yay! for the same belt!
yay! for girl crush!
thank you but I seriously don’t think I am any stronger then anyone else in PW. I think the thing is that I weigh more then most of the women here, not necessarily a good thing as far as I am concerned and something I am working on Now if I gain strength and all my lifts go up and I lose fat… then maybe I am a little bit strong
Squats look good
remember pulling your hips under when unracking in the monolift? Need to try to get set like that once you’ve walked back, it should take some of the forward lean out.
My knee is… meh. It hurts, then it doesn’t hurt. It can’t hold weight, then it can hold weight. I squatted and it was ok but warmming up was a bitch and if I stopped for too long it started to hurt. I see the Doc on Weds morning.
Walking back keeps screwing me up. I set my hips under the bar during my set up and I stand upa nd walk back. I feel like they are under the bar but I guess as I go down my butt goes out and my front goes forward and I cave. I can’t figure why I keep doing it.
Do you do any prehab/rehab stuff like VMO exercises, foam rolling, lax ball rolling, stretching, bw stuff?
Your form looks really good on your squats. Maybe it’s just a little tired? Does your knee recover faster than it used to? Sorry, I’m late to the party and all questiony

I warm up usually on a bike before I squat or DL, it is mostly for my hips and low back though but I suppose it can’t hurt the knee. I massage the tendon under my patella which is what is hurting. It does help when I am at the gym and it is hurting or just in general when it is hurting but it never just stops hurting.
I don’t think I can foam roll the area as it is kind of small. I am going to get some tennis balls for the area but massage works too.
I am wondering if my problem is more with DL then squat and my squat is being effected because of a problem with my DL form.
Blarg, I have no idea how to fix it.
I would suggest really working on stretching out your quads and IT band. Foam rolling your entire leg will help too. The pain might be centered at your knee but that could just be because that’s where all the muscles insert. I find that as long as I keep up with stretching, foam rolling and lax balling my legs, my knee is generally happier. I also do some VMO exersices to warm up the muscles and get the mind-body connection going.
I didn’t squat for almost two years because it would cause me serious pain, even with just the bar on my shoulders. I couldn’t walk up or down stairs without having to limp. Doing this stuff has seriously helped me. It took time. I devoted MONTHS to just doing rehab and mostly upper body work. I ice my knees after every workout. I wear knee sleeves to keep them warm. But I can squat again without pain. It’s not a lot of weight right now, but I CAN.
I’ll find the article that really helped me if you’re interested

I’d like to say yes please to posting the article.
lalalalalala… just moving over here to this forum… lalalalalalala…
So I went to the doc today and had xrays, all kinds of knee mobility tests and wore paper shorts. Xrays were fine though I had some very slight knee cap dis-alingment. I don’t think they really knew what else to do so they gave me a brace to move my knee cap back shrugs
Also I have been scheduled for an MRI next week to make sure nothing is torn.

Hi, Ronda. How about a “our story so far” to those of us coming in the middle of the movie?
Let me see if I can remember everything…
Started powerlifting because I wanted to lose weight but had a definent aptitude for strength over being skinny.
Lost 40lbs
Had a few injuries which are now mostly managed by avoiding certain exercises and warmming up each area that bothers me. The knee thing is completetly new though. I am sort of plauged by injuries actually…
Just had my first SPF Powerlifting competition 2 weeks ago. It was great, I loved it. Total was 695
