As I slacked over the weekend I had to get in my max DL and my deload bench today.
DL 1x8x135, 1x6x165, 1x5x185, 1x3x210, 1x3x235, 1x1x255 → this is where I pulled my lower back, again… ![]()
I have a deep tissue massage scheduled for tomorrow and I am icing my back right now. Fuck!
I am not going to do well at a meet if I can’t deadlift more then 260…

I was going to skip my deload week but I am going to wait and see how I come through tomorrow and how my back feels before I totally decide…
:(( do you have tennis ball or racquet/lacross ball? I will use this on my lower back and piriformis against a wall, also icy hot has a roll of tape that you can cut to size and does last a good 6-8 hours. I’ll use that at night. But massage is always best for me too. Hope it works itself out.
Does the gym have a reverse hyper machine?

I have a golf ball at present… I will look for one of the other kinds of balls.
I iced it but I will also icy hot it tonight.

I was tight when I started the lift but as I came up the air just exhaled from my lungs. I have no idea why I couldn’t hold it.

I had my massage yesterday and that woman is a miracle worker. I have felt great, except for when leaning forward a bit and even that isn’t so bad, ever since.
Today I squated and it went well, of course it was deload, still, no pain ![]()

First time I have ever done rack pulls. I had to stand on a stool at the squat rack so I could get the bar in the right position. I also used my straps and I now have lovely broken blood vessels all over my hands, and they itch
I think I like rack pulls though

I am increasing my protien intake in my attempt to increase some strength. I seem to have platued in everylift and I know I have been slacking on the protien so I am doing my best to fix it.

I am sick and tired of cutting my “heavy” singles short, before they actually get heavy, because of my back. My core was tight, I was doing my kegal, I took a deep breath and somehow I still can’t lift with putting direct stress on my low back. I know it is an exercise for the glutial chain and it involves the back, that said I feel like I must be goodmorning-ing the bar, but I’m not. I can’t figure out how to fix this. I am very, very frustrated right now.

have you tried pulling sumo? it is definitely different lift but may save your lower back a bit
do the GM’s hurt your lower back?

GMs sort of hurt my back. I do them after I DL so I am already feeling that. I have noticed that I can’t go very high in weight on those because it does hurt my back.
