I also want to see how suited I was for sumo DL. I made some videos the show both my form for sumo and conventional. I have to say conventional feels easier but I think sumo will put less stress on my siatic nerve. Check my form and tell me how it looks please.
and my favorite, I think I found a body weight squat machine? Though perhaps you can use weight with it. It just looked so funny that i had to try it out.
You have beautiful form!
The “weird squat helper” is actually the Roman Chair. A lot of people call the Captain’s Chair or the Glute/Ham Device the Roman Chair but what you have there is a proper Roman Chair.

I thought it might be those but when I looked it up it said a Roman Chair was something targeting glutes, abs, and low back. Like this
and when I looked up Captains Chair it seemed to be a type of hanging ab raise like this
I am still not sure what this thing is, lol.
Thank you for the compliment on my form, I still can’t get over how weird sumo feels though and if my feet are right. Should I go wider or am I too wide? Where should my feet be pointed? I feel like my arms are rubbing against my legs when I come up sometimes, that doesn’t seem right… I have lots of questions.

Rhonda, your sumo deads look better than mine. So I can’t really critique anything, except I think you should put more weight on the bar! :)[/quote]
I havn’t DLed in so long that the 185 felt kind of heavy. Plus sumo somehow makes everything feel a little heavier to me which I think may be different from other peoples experience. Those videos were more about form then weight though. As I go up I will have to keep recording to be sure it doesn’t all go to hell when things get heavier:p

Hi Ronda,
I am also fighting form in my deadlift. Punnyguy posted a video in my thread (over 35 forum) that was very informational. Covers both Conv and Sumo. I would copy and paste it here but don’t know how. I encourage you to check it out.
