Ronaldo, the Incredible Hulk

the point is he probably doesn’t do 3000 situps a day. just some bollox the paper made up. i mean, these guys train 5 days a week and play once or twice a week up and down the country. then they have media work to do, charity, sponsor oblihgations, other business interests, families, orgies to attend etc. Why would he be doing 3000 situps a day?

and all you americans can say what you want about football, but the fact remains that it is the world game. no one really cares about baseball, NFL, ice hockey, and basketball, except americans. so your comments do not rile me up one bit. in the face! into the face!

Bottomline, if you’re white american AND want to stick with the white american cunt, you’re better off NOT following the doctrines on this site. Im serious.

I find this to be an interesting post. I agree with your bottomline, for sure. Although the approval of any type of female will never dictate my goals.

I’m not sure I understand you last point though? I find black guys in the media are the same generally as the white guys. The guys the girls like are, as an example, tyrese and usher, not Kai Greene, or Ronnie Coleman.

I wonder why all these poor and little countries pick up on soccer? Is it because they know they will get their asses handed to them if they pick real sports like (American) Football and Baseball? Maybe a bunch of poor uneducated people were sitting around one day trying to think of something to do, and with their feeble minds they just decided to kick a spheroid around for hours and hours not even scoring any points. This is how the incredibly boring and poor sport of soccer got started.

Also, what kind of a pussy sport shows someone a card when they break the rules? Why not throw a colored projectile across the field? Or make meaningful hand gestures while yelling loud enough the whole stadium can hear you?

Plus, someone would have to be drunk to enjoy watching soccer. That’s why a lot of ‘soccer countries’ have so much rampant drinking. “Well, we picked soccer, because we didn’t want the Americans to beat us or do better than us again. So, I guess we have to start drinking heavily or this shit is going to get very boring, very quickly.”

American Football is purely american…Baseball is huge in Japan and Korea. Ice hockey is huge in Russia and Western Europe and basketball is slowly gaining on soccer’s popularity. And you buck tooth limey it’s IN YOUR FACE! IN YOUR FACE! See you limey bastards in June. USA! USA!USA!

American football is getting a bigger following over here, some of our universities even have teams now (they are of a poor standard as far as I know). I don’t think it’s fair to compare rugby and American football, they are completely different sports witha different dynamic.

I think its just that every country has its big 3 or 4 sports and it just happens that you can draw parallels between some of them - I think trying to argue that one sport is better than another is just foolish!

Soccer is shit though.

EDIT: Spelling

just wanted to point out MMA will soon be the most popular sport.

oh, and soccer/football is ghay; rugby is better than AF, but both are ok.

MMA may end up the most watched sport, but it will never be the most participated in sport.

sorry to get in the way of america vs UK

but i just got a question, dont most footballers/ soccer players look like that, i mean their cardo is off the charts, all they do is run, and thats everyday, so i would expect these players to have relatively low BF%, not like bodybuilders or sprinters, but below 10% at least,

so what the fuck does doing 3,000 sit ups have to do with getting a body like that? he (Ronaldo) is a professional he goes through fucking training everyday, fucking conditioning, fucking rehab, fucking special treatment cause he is Ronaldo, so seriously does doing 3,000 sit ups a day give a person a body like that?[/quote]

There are a fair few players that are in as good shape as him or better. I very much doubt he does 3,000 sit ups per day. If he does, his fitness coach is probably pissed off at him since the article came out.

This is a puff piece in a shit newspaper. It’s basically just an excuse to put in pictures of a popular guy with his shirt off.

Yeah, that’s a pretty ignorant post.

Soccer is and always will be number one in the world because it’s a cheap and accessible game to play, with minimum rules. You need a ball and a flat area. Basketball you need a ball and a hoop. That’s why those two sports are #1 and #2. I guess it’d be too much for you to consider how kids in Africa, China, India, Pakistan and South America can afford to play sports that require hundreds of dollars in equipment, expensive facilities and have a ton of rules.

And as for one of your “real” sports being baseball - seems to me that lately Honduran, Dominican Republican, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Japanese and other “non-Americans” are dominating the sport and outnumber the Americans now. Won’t be long before American born baseball players are a small minority.

Either you are entirely stupid or satirical genius, but in response to your comments:

Yes, poor countries pick up soccer precisely because it only involves 1 spherical object and perhaps 4 other objects with which to make 2 goals. American sports, in the spirit of capitalism, require ridiculous amounts of gear, all of which cost stupid amounts of money.

If you have ever watched a soccer match you would know that the refs also uses hand gestures. But unlike US football where there is a complete stop in the game every 30 seconds and a myriad if inane rules, the refs only need to make a few hand gestures signifying direction of play and possession and the game continues to play without much stoppage.

I am not even going to respond to the whole drinking and soccer rant, because, well, its entirely illogical. Amusing, but illogical.

Don’t worry about the last 2 posts, I understood the sarcasm and thought it was quite hilarious. Hopefully I’m not alone.

I doubt if MMA isn’t at its peak right now. Don’t get me wrong, I love MMA, and have a black belt in judo, so I appreciate all the skill and athleticsm involved. But I would never let my kids watch it, and I don’t know a single woman who enjoys watching it or even finds it acceptable (although I’m sure there are some, but they are a minority). It’s fan base is largely under 40 males and that can only take you so far in terms of popularity.

It’s just a cultural fact bros. You are american and do not understand soccer, I am european and do not understand american football. It is just matter of exposure to them. IF you are use to something, the different is of course …unusual  and you may not understand at first. But then If you try…well there is room to grow and become more, as in any field of life.
We are in continuous evolution. And we look for things that we do not know and we cannot do, to become able to do them and evolve!

Only who try to understand different things, really evolves. The others remain in the masses
World has improved, is improving and will improve because of people doing different things. Not because of the ones that keep omologating (dunno if this last word exists… but yet, I invented it eventually. Because I am a creative person)

That’s odd. The vast majority of the women I know love MMA and watch the fights with us regularly. A few of my female friends follow it even more closely than many guys I know. I don’t disagree with the rest of your post, but I just thought that part about women was odd considering my experience has pretty much been the opposite of yours.

I’d have to agree, but on the basis that women find the sport appealing for different reasons - my girlfriend likens it to a train wreck, where she finds it horrific but enthralling, whereas like most males who are fans, I appreciate the skill and athleticism.

Maybe it’s just because British women are sadists.

That’s a bit lofty, after all people might have to resort to creatine.

Let’s hope not. I find this more irritating than the papers going on about how Daniel Craig was MASSIVE when Casino Royale came out. Was there much discussion about that on here at the time?

I think a rule of thumb should be if you can see someone’s ribs (without a vacuum pose) then they don’t warrant adjectives like “ripped” and “muscular”, or comparisons with the fucking Hulk.
