Rogue Do Wins 1/2 vs 3/4 Heel

Hey all,

I’m looking at getting my first pair of Oly lifting shoes. After some looking around, it seems that the Rogue Do Wins from the Canadian site are a good place to start.

I’m not big into the olympic lifts yet. I have dabbled. I do however squat nearly every workout and am hoping to get more serious with the olympic lifts when I join my local university lifting club.

My current shoe is a flat soled new balance minimalist shoe. Before that I used vibrams.

As someone just getting started, should I go for the 1/2 inch heel? Or, is that not a big enough heel to realize any of the advantages of using oly shoes and instead opt for the 3/4 inch. Of course, if I should avoid these shoes altogether, I’m open to other recommendations.

Thanks!

84 views and no response? Is that because the difference between a 1/2 and 3/4 is negligible? I’ve never owned oly shoes, so if that’s the case just let me know.

Thanks

3/4 heel is the standard, you could probably make 1/2 work if you have great flexibility but I would go with 3/4 heel oly shoes. Maxbarbell has some for cheap.

As already stated, 3/4" is the standard for very good reason. Pendlay has their red Dowins on sale for $99 and free shipping. They are very good shoes and will last 4-6 years minimum if you take decent care of them.

If you are in Canada you can sign up on Adidas’ website to get a 15% off code and use it to get Adipowers for 144$/free shipping. That’s what I did and it was well worth it.

Sweet, thanks! Hopefully my size is in soon!

Keep an eye on the site cause they do sell out quick. You can call them too, they usually have an idea when shipments come in.
