Exactly.

Why beat up on him for his numbers?

Hey, at least he looks better than Branch Warren.

Haha I love your Branch hate!

Both are ugly as sin IMO but that’s fine with me as long a Phil keeps winning! I respect Branch for his conditioning and Roelly for his massive size.

Agreed. Lets decrease the level of haterade around here for a while. Roelly has succeeded at being huge as fuck…and I seriously doubt he gives a shit about making sure everyone on the internet is satisfied.

Why are people so fixated on a bodybuilders numbers anyway?

At least for me it’s not about being fixated, it’s just about being bothered by blatant lying or showboating.

Most guys here don’t care about strength so the best way to put it into perspective is to turn things around;
it’s as if some powerlifter posted a youtube video titled ‘Best physique ever, better bodybuilder than Phil Heath’ and he looked like a turd.

Sound ridiculous? Yeah, otherwise does too!

Maybe I’m weird to care about these things, I don’t know. I guess I’m just not the aloof ‘the ends justify the means so I don’t care about anything’ type.

For what it’s worth, this doesn’t affect my view on Roelly as a bodybuilder at all.

I actually like him as a bodybuilder, and the only thing I think is ‘ugly’ about his physique is that pooping face he makes while hitting poses and the tat on his stomach (seems he had it removed though? or maybe he covers it with spray?)

I don’t like the whole number showboating thing, but it’s not like it’s a new thing and Roelly is the worst case.
If we were to take his word on it, Greg Kovacs was the strongest human being/demi-god to grace us with his existence.

Because there are still a lot of ‘athletes’ and guru trainers who say bodybuilders aren’t strong at all and quite frankly, that’s bullshit.

I also like:“these guys can’t chew gum and walk at the same time”, or, “it is the bodybuilders who cannot help me move stuff”.

Utterly stupid.

Bodybuilding has ALWAYS been about showboating. Arnold is a prime example… whether it be the numbers, measurements, bodyweight or height.

Yeah, onstage no judge is asking your numbers. But exposure outside of the arena counts for many of these guys staying in the spotlight, drumming up sponsorships, attracting attention to their own biz ventures, and staying featured in the BB press - all to try and make a living from their passion.

It’s a tough biz. It’s an art, but with a complex set of strategies that go beyond the stage.

haterade…PX made me laugh, havent heard that one in years

Thick green plates are 50kg (110lbs), thin green plates are 10kg (25lbs)

Just saying cuz my gym uses those.
